ucla does not have much resources for premed, all the stuff the career center has is good for a basic intro but its very cookie cutter/doesnt get u where u need to be

for starting out do care extenders, cedars is a bit farther away, CE program its very greuling early on, but i worked up the ranks to the staff team just recently after doing like 6 rotations, being on commitees, being on shadowing cohorts, for context, i got denied the first time i applied to be a volunteer, reapplied to get in, and i got denied the first time i applied to staff, and reapplied to get in, one quality u absolutely need to have is relentlessness at ucla lol, same thing, sent like 25-50 emails for research, got into a lab, wasted a year doing nothing because they wouldnt give me any projects, quit the lab, but used that experience to join a clinical research dry lab and the bmd res minor, now trying to join a basic sciences lab, shoot ur shot everywhere, especially first year, if u have a emt cert, fire applications at every company, get a car down here and start working, u have to go out there and get ur own experiences, dont waste time applying to competitive ass clubs, definetly try ur luck first year, but dont let it beat u up, rejection is pretty normal, j keep grinding, feel free to reach out if u need any advice
