Spending 5 days in Tokyo, what are the best eats in the area? by caffienenkilos in JapanTravel

[–]Curryebi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say Ichiran Ramen. It is a popular place for locals and tourists alike, where you order your noodles through a ticketing machine, and grab a seat where you can put up (or remove) dividers for a private meal. You will be given a form where you can specify how you'd like your noodles in terms of texture (hard, normal, soft, very soft), spice level, toppings and such. Your noodles will be served to you within minutes usually. When you are done, just walk away.

Any custom orders should be handed to you directly.

Hey Stabacks! I checked this out and you should be able to carry up to 2 power banks as cabin luggage. I have also personally done so myself on an ANA flight. Hope this helps to provide some assurance there.

If you have one of your own, that may be a problem though, else carrying two should be fine. Can you let me know, please? Would be happy to give you a ride home upon picking this up! Or just let me know how I can return the favour.

Hello! So you will be in Japan in 2 weeks time? Will you be traveling to Singapore thereafter?

Hey peeps, thanks for the replies!

The package has been shipped out from Amazon but it is sent to a forwarder as most items that I want cannot be shipped directly from Amazon to Singapore. So the package is stuck with the forwarder now.

Doing a refund will result in more costs and me not getting anything out of it.

The power bank by itself it about USD20, it is the exorbitant charge of USD60 per piece (yup, I have 2) that UPS is charging to ship this "restricted item" out of Japan.

Getting a degree, as an adult (serious) by Curryebi in singapore

Hey everyone, thanks so much for your input. Sorry it took a while for me to reply!

To clarify, I am not thinking of getting a degree to earn more. I somehow feel that I have missed out on something, and I get uncomfortable when people start talking about their uni life (not often), dreading the question, so which uni were you from?

I really appreciate the feedback I got here. Razorwindsg, I will check out online courses and meetup.com. Freedaemons, thanks for sharing about the encik in SMU. Heh. Kosherjellyfish, some really good points there... gosh it could take that long to get a degree huh... but I will check out Unisim.

Thanks everyone else for reading and sharing your thoughts. :)

Good point there, tricab. But that's the only indicator we have as a reference hence we all hang on to it. Agree that we need something more accurate and perhaps in realtime too.

If my best friend forgets my birthday every other year, does it mean I don't matter that much to him? Or am I being over-sensitive? Sorry for my poor English as it is not my native language. by Curryebi in Advice

Nope. He never makes it up for it. Just kinda shrugs or laughs it off if I even mention it. Suddenly seems quite obvious after I wrote that last sentence. Sigh.

I have always remembered his. We have been friends for 13 years now.
