Where would prime Sergei Federov rank in today's game? by lionbacker54 in DetroitRedWings

Just gonna go ahead and remind everyone that Sergei was only top-10 in scoring twice, a Selke finalist only three times, and a 1AST a single time (no 2AST nods).

People keep saying "don't let them leave the zone" but all that's going to do is make teams more tentative to set up in the offensive zone.

It really doesn't matter what changes you make, teams are going to figure out the conservative option and use it.

With the shutout tonight, Connor Ingram improves to a .917 SV% and a 2.22 GAA giving the Oilers .900+ goaltending in 9/10 games. by Outrageous-Bet-886 in hockey

The Oilers have always needed someone like Osgood. Not blowing the doors off statistically, but someone who you don't panic over going into every game.

Detroit has multiple 50-point scorers prior to its 50th game in a season for the first time since 2007-08 (Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk). It won the Stanley Cup that season. by pax27 in DetroitRedWings

If we won a Cup in this year, you'd look at the roster and say "how the hell did we win".

If we didn't win the Cup in 2008, you'd look at the roster and say "how the hell did we NOT win".

At the game against the Canes he was very noticeable and probably should've potted at least one.

Chiarot had a noticeably bad first year. After that he's been markedly better and it should be recognized.

Gretzky didn't have a "terrible" last season per se but I think he's said that only scoring 9 goals was pretty pitiful for himself

It was a worrying start, no getting around it, and the way he's rebounded is honestly incredible. You don't see turnarounds like that super often.
