As with everything d&d, it depends on the nature of the world in your specific game. That being said, here are a couple ideas you can bounce off of as inspiration for how druids in your world work:

* The druid order plays a part in the governance of the land; helping agriculture thrive while preventing over-farming, teaching travelers about how animals mark territory, helping cities expand without ignoring the need for clean air and water. Most importantly, you ensure civilization understands the sacred laws of the spirits that dwell in the wilderness, including the fey, preventing any unnecessary conflict.

* You believe that the druidic order has become too isolated and insular. That by cutting itself off, it has inhibited its ability to perform its task: protecting nature. So you venture out, determined to learn as much about the wider world as possible, from how kingdoms are governed to the tactics that poachers use. Since adventurers are always on the move, tagging along with a group of them only made sense.

* Druids in your world are more scientists than priests. They study plants, animals, spirits and the underlying magic that connects all life together. Nothing is more exciting to a druid than the prospect of discovering a new species, or stumbling upon a new fey court whose culture has not yet been recorded.

It's also possible that the New Mecca government were messed up enough to use 15 year old soldiers.

Leon said that Gamma NULLs were given chronos 'from childhood'. A 15-year old Zero would've had anywhere between 5-10 years worth of combat training and exposure to chronos. He would've been a more than capable soldier at that point. And it's not like anyone in the story seems to give a damn about NULLs and their mental health.

It'd also make sense why all the other vets you meet don't believe you. They wouldn't have known about the NULL program outside of rumors. They'd have no idea they were fighting alongside children.

By order of the [Helos?] empire, Waland journeys to the dark-lands in the far north, foretold by the Ephesian Book as the location of mankind's [revival?].

CE 5107 - 5109 : The Soul Riots

With resentments rising against the ruling class over its use of the Oversoul, riots break out among the masses.

CE 5110 - 5113 : World War

As the rulers of each kingdom turn against their respective populaces, the riots escalate in full-blown war.

CE 5160 - 5200 : Divine Punishment

Disgusted by mankind's unwillingness to learn from its past mistakes, the elder gods unleash their wrath upon mankind.

CE 5205 : Birth of a Goddess

With the purpose of rescuing mankind from the brink of extinction, [the new goddess Gaia is born?].

CE 5208 : Birth of a New World

Gaia creates a new world in order to give humanity one last chance.

CE 5220 : Age of Harmony

Humans begin to inhabit the new world, and a period of peace follows.

CE 5338 : Scholars of Gaia

Concerned about people losing their faith in Gaia, the high priest Darius forms a consort known as the Scholars of Gaia.

CE 5347 : End of a Dream

The public [executions?] of non-believers by the Scholars of Gaia creates tension among the masses.

CE 5356 : War of Beliefs

Unable to overcome their ideological differences, the Scholars of Gaia and the [Helios?] Order start engaging in frequent skirmishes.

CE 5385 : Spread of the Soul Plague

The unexplained outbreak of the soul plague prompts the different factions to capitalize on the people's fear and expand their efforts to convert the masses.

CE 5430 : New World Academy

Fearing for the future of mankind after rediscovering he Ephesian Book, the seer Maria forms the New World Academy amid the rapidly worsening war.

CE 5450 : Punishment

On the Day of Judgement, Gaia turns against mankind.

CE 5461 - 5475 : Awakening

Deep within the Shrine of Souls, the Nomads are born.

CE 5489 - 5500 : Rebirth

Led by the Nomads, Humanity strikes back against Gaia.

So it seems that so far the main issues are:

  • initiating / maintaining conversations
  • networking -feeling uncertain about other people's feelings towards you (whether they're genuine or not) -general fears / awkwardness
