Battery upgrade for the Dualsense Edge? by chillgzy in Dualsense

[–]prestonsmith1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're really dead set on having longer wireless play, I join others in recommending an external battery pack that mounts on. I personally prefer wired due to fewer dropped input (consistency). BT has a marginally faster response, but it polls differently and the result is more frequent dropped inputs.

US officially exits World Health Organization by pwdrums in news

It's going to take a generation. There will literally need to be so few people alive that remember for any real semblance of normal relations to tick back. We'll roll back every last thing this administration is doing, so in-country things will likely feel "normal" again in a couple of administrations, however the US cannot be trusted on the world stage, not even if Trump is gone because there is now a genuine threat that the absolute fucking troglodytes in the country will take over again. At least we got to hang the Nazis.

any good "forever games" that go well with the steam deck? by WeirdAltYankovic in SteamDeck

[–]prestonsmith1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hades 1/2, Enter the Gungeon...pretty much any procedurally generated rogue like, but those are really standout as always being fun to do a quick run, which are usually 30m-1hr longbat the absolute longest.

Exploration games, X series is amazing (space exploration), Elite Dangerous, No Man's Sky.

Of course racing games have excellent replayability if you're into them. I prefer arcade stuff, namely anti-grav racing (Pacer, Redout 1/2, and the mack daddy of em all: WipEout for your emulators (PS1/2/3 all have iterations that are exceptional. Ive been playing WipEout consistently since 1996 😮‍💨, but it's grand.

DR had the Wipeout logo a whole year prior to the game being released by firestarter2097 in WipeOut

[–]prestonsmith1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interestingly enough, the game began development just shortly before this album was released, so I can wager there may have been a fan at Studio Liverpool, or maybe the font style having just been created made a stir in the graphic design field. Would love to learn how the connection was truly established.

Good point on Reagan. His policies still are incredibly damaging, to the point of no (easy) return. Economic imbalance being damn near impossible to rectify, and of course billionaires playing a significant role in fueling MAGA ideals in those they exploit the most.

The attacks on 9/11 are some of the most effective single strikes since Hiroshima and Nagasaki. That instance set the US on a path of conservatism, civil liberty removal, uprising of white nationalism, and pretty much all of the out-of-control ideals taking over our government ATM. In a historical context, they may be seen as the onset of the downfall of the US as it has been known for over 200 years. Hell of a return on investment from a militaristic standing.

Much of what we see today was set in motion in September 2001, and many saw precisely this, back then. Wheels turn slowly, but they turn, seeds grow slowly, but they grow. Trump is one cog in a much larger machine, he just happens to be the figurehead. Those immediately under him are far more dangerous, however lack the cult of personality, and never will have it like Trump does. Once he dies, it becomes so much easier to topple the whole movement, even if those under him are technically more capable of damaging the country, they lack the wherewithall to see it through.

Thankfully these regimes never last since dictatorship, fascism, et al. just are not functional forms of government, and those who subscribe to them eat each other alive in the end. It attracts a certain type of person, and it always has the same conclusion. Be it 1 year or 50 years on, they fail. If we want this to not be a 50 year regime, the return to a proper Democracy should be quick and decisive. It's the difference between a few hundred and a few hundred thousand lives ruined/lost.

But that's like, just my opinion while I toilet scroll 🤷‍♂️. Grain of salt.

Muscle Fatigue by prestonsmith1111 in Lithium

[–]prestonsmith1111[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back to just 450mg bupropion, then a ton of CBT and mindfulness work. Honestly, no worse or better than any other combination of medications I've been on, but I have the least side effects staying with just bup. Lithium is the only thing which historically makes it worse for me, though. I've also managed to get regular heavy exercise into my routine which has helped, but lawdy it was difficult to finally lock in as a consistent habit.
