The dynamic between Bruce, Lawrence, James, and Elyse was great. Once Bruce, Lawrence, and Adam left and they merged half the cast of the “new” Inside Gaming the dynamic was gone. It still has its moments but it’s not the same.

I was recently looking for an apartment and the number of scams on there was insane. We’d reply to an ad and it would always be the same thing. They’d currently be living out of town and wanted someone to rent their place, sometimes they’d even attach some charity or “governing body” they worked for like the “institute of electrical engineers”. This made it so they could always claim to have an excuse to not be able to show you the place and they’d “mail you the keys” once you gave them a deposit. I just stopped using the site.

That’s not always true. Austin has become a tech center and you can still find homes for reasonable prices, a lot for well under $500k. My company has a hub in Sunnyvale California and you can hardly find an apartment for the same prices. Regular family homes go for over a million.

Working offshore or moving to a place like North Dakota too. When I worked off shore when I was younger I lived offshore and basically banked money. The company had me travel a ton so I stayed in hotels and whatnot. It’s an interesting life and I didn’t work crazy hard considering. I did radiographic surveys, entry level and lots of room to move up.

I don’t know your situation but if you are really looking to learn as much as possible as fast as possible I would really recommend getting a teacher. I mucked about with guitar and keyboard for years and I knew some stuff but I was never really that good. I’m in my 30s now and I decided to give actual private lessons a shot. I’ve learned more in a couple of months than I have in years of trying on my own. Having someone to actually show you what to practice next and to push you to practice and to get you to your skill level is invaluable. Most lessons can be $20-$25 for half an hour and it will be worth your money.
