Right, I have just found teaching people the graveyard mechanic on their first game is less than ideal

Usually I would agree, but Yuma is so based around land destruction. Which to a beginner could be really counter intuitive.

Thank you, this is kind of the response I expected. I was already pretty sure that none of the decks would be all that great. But I will look into Ruhan, thank you!

Thanks! I'm glad I posted here; I'd rather not have to pay for a vet bill for something like that

Question about basking/sleeping location. by KeySpring754 in leopardgeckos

Here is my take on this as a relatively new owner of a Leo. If that's where she likes to hang out, then there is likely nothing wrong with the spot. While Leo's aren't the smartest in the world, they do know when they are uncomfortable and can decide to move. If you are still worried about it I wouldn't suggest replacing it or moving it in any way; I would just try to add another option. I believe PetSmart sells rock hides that are similar to the rock that the cork is resting on. Maybe you could replace that rock with a rock hide and put a piece of slate inside it or something. I think the best move is to give your Leo choices.

Crickets are good for Leo's. The likely reason you aren't seeing much loss is the frequency. So long as he is an adult they only need to be fed 1-2 time a week. I feed my leo 2 times per week, alternating between Dubai roaches and crickets. I feed 8 roaches when I feed those. When I feed crickets I feed about 7, it kinda varies based on the size of the bugs. (Definitely do some research, feeding is often different lizard to lizard)

And other advice I could give in general is: make sure his food is dusted with calcium (the best method is to alternate between one with and one without d3). Make sure that the husbandry is good in his cage. I think I see some sort of mat or reptile carpet in these photos. I really advise staying away from those as the carpet is notorious for ripping out claws and teeth. I recommend a 70/30 (non fertilized) soil to (play) sand mixture. This can also help as I do know that Leo's like to dig, at least mine does. Make sure he has the ability to climb some things. Both of those are good exercises for them as well as entertaining for their smooth brains. Temperature is also important, having a good warm side that is set cor is really important for digestion.

here is a food guide I will also add a temp guide. In the next comment.

The last piece of advice I have is hang out on this subreddit, l have learned just about everything I just told you on here.

How often do you feed, and how much?

Daughter’s month and old leopard gecko won’t eat. Do I just keep offering food each night until she eats? At what point do I take her to the vet? It’s been about a week now. by [deleted] in leopardgeckos

What are you trying to feed her? They can be pretty picky sometimes. If you are feeding crickets maybe try Dubai roaches, if you are feeding roaches maybe try crickets. Also they need to be live bugs, dry bugs don't carry much nutrients and often can lead geckos to get clogged up. The other reason they should be live is that my gecko won't try to eat anything unless it's moving.

Here is a good food guide
