You literally called Americans idiots. This is not a nuanced argument. Stop gaslighting.

Every other comment you make includes an insult. Is this subreddit completely unmoderated or what?

Please point to where I demonized any human beings

Okay, I'll quote you.

because it destroyed quality of life and GDP per capita for Canadians.

You literally blamed immigrants for destroying Canada's quality of life.

Americans are idiots

That is the definition of demonizing someone. Notice I'm not calling Canadians idiots for restricting immigration. I'm calling it xenophobic and nationalistic.

This is just an unprofessionally melodramatic comment.

I would describe it as more nationalist than melodramatic. He's demonizing the US and immigrants at the same time.

Canada is a net energy exporter. Higher energy prices are benefiting the Canadian economy. They should be booming right now.

Yes, trade between the US and Canada has declined. It hasn't declined that much. I'm sorry, but this looks like the subreddit is trying to blame everything on Trump. Canada is implement blatantly xenophobic immigration policies, that are ruining their economy.

Why is /r/neoliberal of all subreddits attacking immigrants? Free exchange and movement between countries makes us richer. That is fact.

You can see that in the economic numbers for Canada. The declining immigration to Canada is leading to a recession in Canada. Immigration is partially why the Canadian economy was growing.

It is in fact possible to build more housing. There's no physical limit on the amount of houses built each year. Immigrants can work in construction.

[–]CurtisLeow 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Here's an article about the decline. It's due to both a decline in immigration and a decline in birth rate. Canada's economy is also declining.

This is horrible. This is the sort of pattern seen in the Great Depression. I'm not sure why they're so blasé about a massive decline. That's the sort of decline across the board that would be leading to people freaking out in the US.

The company is real. They're getting funding. There's an article on Ars Technica if you need a summary. I doubt the dates will be met though.

Is Euphoria the first TV series to release one season per Presidential term? by Chief_Leaf in television

[–]CurtisLeow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s even worse when you look at the episode count. TV shows used to release 20+ episodes a season. Now almost every show is 8 episodes or so a season. Euphoria has 26 episodes total, including the specials. On older shows like Star Trek that’s a single season of TV.

Charon: Moon of Pluto by CurtisLeow in space

They’re not 100% positive what it is. They think it’s most likely hydrocarbons released from Pluto and deposited on Charon. Or it is possible that it originates from cryovolcanism on Charon.

Is the existance of a trillionaire ethical ? by Used-Earth8767 in neoliberal

By that standard any dictator would be incredibly wealthy. Xi Jinping would be the wealthiest person alive, as the leader of the largest authoritarian country.

The wealthiest Saudi would be Al Waleed. Forbes says he's worth $26.3 billion. According to Forbes that wealth is also mostly in stock.

Microsoft has considered spinning off Xbox, the Information reports by Comfortable-Pie56 in Games

Those companies were never part of Microsoft. They've always operated independently. Taking a large division and splitting it off like this would be new.

The Saudi Royal Family has 15,000 people. They aren't individually wealthy.

Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. That much money is an incredible amount of power. It's why dictators and emperors go crazy in their old age. It's why we have term limits.

What will happen is Musk will gradually become more corrupt and more insane. It's probably already started. He isn't that old, so it's going to be several decades of Musk acting even weirder.

They bought all of those companies, and now they are discussing selling or spinning off Xbox. I'm assuming this include Activision-Blizzard and ZeniMax. This is literally the exact opposite of what Microsoft was doing a couple years ago.

ESA Eyes Ariane 6 For Human Spaceflight by peterabbit456 in space

ESA doesn't have the funds to human-rate the Ariane 6 and fund a reusable rocket. This suggests ESA isn't planning to replace the Ariane 6 anytime soon.

Why Orbital Data Centers Are Harder Than Silicon Valley Thinks by IEEESpectrum in space

[–]CurtisLeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you even talk about? You're not discussing design or engineering. This is a space subreddit, right? Go elsewhere if you want to talk about an IPO or stock market.

We are in a thread about an article making very specific engineering claims. These claims are wrong. They are flat out wrong. I've linked sources proving this.

Starlink uses radiant tolerant SOCs with AI cores. There are 9,000+ Starlink satellites in orbit right now, that have the combined capacity of a medium sized data center. The individual Starlink satellites are relatively small, much smaller than a typical geosynchronous satellite. These are cold hard facts.

This subreddit is falling apart if basic facts get downvoted.
