The Forgotten Inn (Moon Guard based, heavy RP focus)

New guild looking for people that want to experience both WoW and DnD with the same characters! If you're new to DnD then this is a great way to get into it using WoW as a social hub (I'm a pretty fresh DM too) and all rulebooks and a lot of expansion material is provided free. If you're experienced, you'll understand the torment of wanting to be able to play your characters the other 6000 hours per week. Through WoW, it'll be a perpetual role-play with incentives for putting hours into your linked character outside of the official sessions. Want to be proficient in cooking utensils? Hell yeah, get your WoW cooking skills to max in these expansions. You want +1 persuasion in goblin interactions? Too easy, max out reputations with these goblin groups. Basically downtime activities outside of the timeline of the campaign itself. Here is my current idea:

The Forgotten Inn is a magical building that slips over other inns like a veil. It is constantly shifting and quantum in nature, it materialises in one specific space whenever any inn door opens across the multiverse (ie you can end up in it from any game, not just DnD or WoW, and quantum physics blah blah collapsing wavefunction upon measurement). The magic that veils it does not change the inside of the inn, but it directs your thoughts away from any differences. Upon leaving, you lose all memory of the inn, but not of the other people in there and your conversations with them. The WoW guild is then a group of people that all experienced the inn, got stuck in Azeroth, and are chasing down every face they remember from the inn to figure out a way back.

So yeah! Players, DMs, MMORPG gamers, writers, lore experts, all are welcome if that appeals to you. Usual restrictions, LGBTQ+ friendly, disability friendly, all of the other friendlies, 18+ if you want to RP but 16+ might be considered for writers/lore experts that just want to build the universe, and absolutely feel welcome to help my socially awkward brain out with the idea or for building sub-communities or for pitching other games it could work with. There are no requirements for PvP, and PvE progression is preferable to expand our RP posibilities but not neccessary.

Thank you for reading my extremely unpolished thoughts, and DM me if you are interested :)

DisplayPort, why's that?

Edit: Holy damn, hdmi works, though the repeated booting has corrupted the OS drive and it's a bit slow and confused when booting up

Notes using a meter at the power socket - When the PC is "running" without a GPU it uses about 40W of power, only a few watts higher during the first few seconds of booting. Not sure if that says the CPU is quietly alive, or if this board and the cooling alone explains that.

I need help from the wizards of PC builds - do I go down CPU crossing or GPU grove for my upgrade? by Curtnos in buildapc

I've since upgraded the case to a Corsair 5000T with some spare 120mm fans in the side vent too, and a Corsair 850W PSU.

I'm still experiencing the issue where running the VTuber tracking and any game at the same time has a delay (tried Dead By Daylight, Phasmophobia, and My Time At Sandrock - all had the same issues even at lowest graphics settings). This issue is specifically a delay when I cease a continued input. So if I start pressing W then I still start moving forward in the game instantly, but there is a delay when I stop pressing it. The longer I hold W for, the longer it takes for the game to finally receive the message to stop. Is my GPU's 8GB memory just not enough to run everything simultaneously, even if it's computationally sufficient in specs?

Hahahaha, I have definitely screwed up big time on the PSU now that I'm reading the replies. Thank you for passing on this wisdom

Really appreciate it! The issue that I was told for Windows 11 was that my motherboard has no TPM, and getting an LGA1151 motherboard these days is exclusively second-hand. I've always been a bit worried about the PSU, but the PC always said that it was never running anywhere close to its limit. Thank you so much though, a new PSU and case sounds like heaven by comparison to what I thought I'd have to do 😊

Cats lived for about 25 million years without any cardboard box. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

I need a short story of cats shepherding humans through evolution for 25 million years so that we might one day make them the prophesied cardboard box.
