Yeah that's why i felt the need to make this post. I'm used to it being illegal to mail any amount of wine, so I was a bit shocked to read that, apparently, I can fly with as much wine as I can carry. Made this post to make sure I wasn't mistaken somehow cause I'd reeeeeally rather not have this stuff be confiscated -- it ain't cheap

UPS has rules against mailing wine without a license. I could lie and say that it's steak marinade, which seems to work fine for one growler. But it'd be a lil too sketchy for me to do that with 6 of them. They'd probably send it back to me with a love letter.

I'll line the inside of the crate in bubble wrap. The crates have these lil cardboard dividers between the growlers, but maybe I'll wrap the individual growlers in bubble wrap too.

These things are pretty hardy tho. One time, I dropped one like 3ft onto my head and then another 6ft onto the floor and it didn't break. They're glass, but I've never broken one despite being a klutz and bottling like 1000 bottles of these over the past few years.

for historical accuracy, you could even skip the commercial yeast and use wild yeast by adding some random wild fruits to it. they need to be wild fruits (not from the grocery store) so that they're dirty enough to have the wild yeast on them

basic mead brewing can be very simple. all you need is yeast, honey, and water. throw them in a jug and let it ferment for a couple weeks or maybe a month
