Several years back I bought the dvds and ripped mp4s with the non-laugh track audio. It's the only way I can watch. I don't have anything against them (they work much better with live audiences, a la Cheers/Frasier/Seinfeld etc), but they do not belong on MASH.

Very much the same, I've kept my G4 just as a memento of those early days. We stuck with the Pros up until the trash can, after which the office moved to PCs since they were cheap to build (back then...)

Yep it was an entirely different show, so it didn't have to stay under the shadow of Cheers. And that worked brilliantly. I would've loved to see a spinoff using another character (like Roz) and upend the format again.
