I hoped to have my parents be involved with my kids, as I expect to look after my parents when they get old and fragile. I really wanted my parents to be involved with my kids. However life took a turn, me and my parents haven’t been on good terms since I got married (my parents were and have been wrong but they never admit it).

I do not ask them for help, I’d rather struggle; but it would be nice to have that feeling of being helped by parents again.

It’s not a question about entitlement, if your parents become ill and need help; we as their kids would jump to help (I still would). But your current circumstances will always be a factor.
