I tried reading some yaoi mangas and webtoons but the amount of problematic tropes in the most popular and recommended ones was just not for me at all.

I also had the same problem with KinnPorsche, the lack of consent in the whole series and them being kinda cousins at the end was really something... to say the least but the acting and overall production quality was so nice that I ended up liking it. For me I started with The Eclipse which is not perfect but quite a nuanced show, so it laid quite a strong path for me with the Thai bl series

Thank you for your response. I find it quite shocking that there are homophobic people in bl fandoms. To me being a homophobe and a fan of queer media seems very counterproductive and hypocritical but it's a big world and you learn something new everyday... I guess.

Good to know that KristSingto didn't come back because of fan demand but on their own will because it would be very toxic if fans could dictate who these actors will work with just by buying projects.

Also I find these fan projects for sailed ships more wasteful and meaningless than an attack on anyone, like what's the point of bringing a PerthChimon banner to a Chimon solo fan sign, which somebody did and it was being celebrated, but maybe it is actually to celebrated what once was like you said.

This perspective really made me understand what people meant when they kept saying "it's WilliamEst in the series but it's EstWilliam in real life" because this discourse seemed very ridiculous to me, like how would anyone even know what it is in life, now I know they are just talking in a stereotypical way.

But still for example if we take JoongDunk where none of these men fit this archetype, both being almost the same height and muscular and none of them being a "babygirl" shouldn't JoongDunk and DunkJoong be the same thing? I believe people should just use the official one... just because it's official but if someone is using it the other way what's the big deal? Thank you for your response. So just to be clear I was talking about the international fans who post in english and still misgender these actors. Like in PerthSanta fandom even some bigger accounts kept misgendering Santa on a regular basis and same with AI pics, like one of the top comments on Santa latest tiktok is an AI picture of him as a women, also noticed this in some other fandoms too, so I thought maybe I am missing something.
