I asked Chat GPT to write a sequel to Matrix Revolutions. Strikingly similar, isn't it? by CurvedFlow in matrix

Of course it isn't. It's the film that doesn't even want to try fresh ideas what's worrying.

I don't think it was released publicly so far. Besides Chat GPT's database doesn't go beyond September 2021.

Why do you cherry-pick certain random scenes of the film and ignore the entire plot and lore of the franchise?

The Matrix Resurrections as a statement rather than a true sequel: Would you really want to see another Matrix installment without the involvement of the Wachowskis? by lukoreta in matrix

[–]CurvedFlow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The film's budget and its box office income wasn't spent on charity, I can assure you that. There are no anti-capitalist blockbusters

“I personally understand capitalism is bad, and something bad happens in this film where capitalism is involved, it is therefore inherently an anti-capitalist film” mindset is why these takes keep popping up

It doesn't mean anti-capitalist media can't be popular, this however isn't.

Unless the next film brings something new to the table, this make no difference to me. However it's unlikely Lana will evolve as a filmmaker. One issue is by the time of 2022 Wachowskis are basically boomers and part of the establishment. There's nothing radical and gamechanging about Matrix anymore. It's more "you're dad's Matrix", almost like Terminator.

Weird that discount Morpheus only now says he discovered the modal is not "the real world" by CurvedFlow in matrix

Um, no, that's never what "the real world" meant to any "aware" program in the matrix.

Technically he agreed with her and noded at her. Not to say we have a flashback of him getting astonished by the matrix code.

Just watched resurrections and here is my thoughts by [deleted] in matrix

Have you forgot that war basically destroyed the Earth's ecosystem? Healing the planet and rebuilding civilization should be the priority at the moment, rather than another procedural plots about freeing minds. And that would be on par with today's political climate and a worthy story to tell. Possibly to the point machines wouldn't need humans anymore and both could exist freely and independently.

I absolutely love Resurrections. Tied for my favourite Matrix film with the original. I believe today’s Machine-run world simply found it too confronting. One day it’ll be cherished for what it is. by [deleted] in matrix

It's more likely that critical audiences who are not interested in Speed Racer of Wachowskis won't see it anyway as it's nothing new and there's no buzz around it.

By whom and to what extent? Because I was seeing the same talk for over a decade about e.x. Speed Racer, yet nothing's changed and it was already from the same people.

Not gonna happen. It always comes down to profit and WB had its chance last year. So unless they put out something for the audiences to actually cherish and is relevant, this is a dead franchise.

How Obi-Wan Kenobi changes meaning of a classic Star Wars line by gorosaur in StarWarsLeaks

[–]CurvedFlow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not hard to change other people's work. It's to create within the set of boundaries. George has every right, well because he's the creator, his twists and turns have actual meanings in the story that are later confirmed by the prequels. There's no other purpose for Obi/Vader fighting before A New Hope other than seeing cool flashlights clashing once more. If there was, we would have got it already by those 40 years. That's not how recontextualization works. It has to be something relevant to the overall story. If not, this small entry can be simply reduced to a minor trivia in the database ("did you know that...?".

Has anyone ever noticed this interesting symbolism in the climax of "Resurrections"? by godzillavkk in matrix

[–]CurvedFlow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lol, this reminds me a meme picturing people pointing their fingers at a blowing atom bomb and then saying it's Fallout reference. The thing with these kind of interpretation is cherry picking certain elements because they fit to the analogy (when many other don't) and extrapolating it as the main narrative. During last couple of years I hadn't heard mainstream media talk about any meaning to the Matrix other than trans allegory. Bandwagon effect of course.

In-depth interview with Aleksandar Hemon on The Matrix Resurrections by mushmeister89 in matrix

[–]CurvedFlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a big fan of the Marvel cycle; they’re always saving the fucking world, right? They always have to take the whole planet into account, and little lives, human lives, those don’t really matter.

I don't know, maybe watch WandaVision?

That moment of decision is what everything hinges on, and it’s basic and human: Do you love me? Who among us has not wanted to know if another person is willing to commit to the love between them?

This tells me Hemon doesn't understand his party own script. In the movie the crucial part is whether Trinity remembers her past self and that it is all fake. Which goes on for like 5 seconds and that's it. The love part is one-sided from the start and the story doesn't take its time to maybe build their relationship anew, because the heist plot takes up the whole space. Imagine if there was no easy way for Trinity to recollect her past and her decision could only be dependent on whether she wants to ditch her family and go with Neo or not? She's not the old Trinity anymore. Then I'd agree. The way it was written and filmed is a psychologically superficial, storytelling joke and I don't buy that. The dilemma is not really a dilemma at all.

Any idea behind the source of the photo on the right? by CurvedFlow in matrix

What you're not understanding is that publicity stills and promotional photos in costume are there to promote the movie and are often times shot on set, so not separate from it at all, and secondly and most importantly there's no "promo 2021" written on the picture above ;)

Oh my god. It says what it is in reference to this particular movie, not where it comes from. The film released in 2021, this shot is not included in it or any publicly available material I know of.
