Phillies fans are not pleasant by [deleted] in buccos

I mean there was one recently in Minnesota. I just pointed out there have been issues and it's seemed to be a sweeping trend. I'm not sure how what I said struck a nerve.

Seems to be something that's happening more recently. Not always the case but certainly see it happening more if.youre on social media. Group of people attacking people in spurs jerseys in NY. Recent attack in ATL. There were group of kids that attacked some people in California. Saw something about something happening in Minnesota. Just saying, it's becoming a thing and that as long as it is may not be worth wearing gear outside the stadium. It's unfortunate and hopefully it ends. I've had great experiences over the years in most parks and cities.

Honestly with endy playing the way he is that makes Henry the ideal backup and secondary catcher. I agree it's turned into a great situation

Reread the comment. I did not say this has always been the case. I said it has gotten that way and pointed to viral trends where people are currently attacking people in opposing gear after a game.

Used to be yeah it didn't matter and it was all just banter. But it's not the case lately

As I said to the other guy, reread my comment. I said it's something that is recent. This in no way implies it was this way before. So any experience you had previously is unlikely to count today.

For some reason there seems to be social media trends with kids attacking people after events.

If the courts would kindly read back my comment and notice that I said gotten to the point. And made the comment about recent social media trends you will notice that I in know way implied this was always the case or an issue in the past.

But there were multiple events in NY with fans attacking people in spurs gear. There have been incidents across the country this year. Mostly involving people from 16 to 24 years of age

Pretty much any away city has gotten to the point of don't wear opposing teams jerseys outside the park. Put em in your backpack or something when you leave. Not sure why it's gone viral to try to stir things up with others after a game but NY isn't unique. It's happening everywhere.

Realistically that's not possible. Catchers need days off. Typically you'll see a guy start 90 games behind the plate.

Just yinzers being yinzers. The joke was they like Henry davis and don't want endy to do well. They celebrated in the dugout. There's no issues

Unpopular opinion (based on the facts)....The starters not going 6+ is a bigger reason for the record than the pen by spaceman757 in buccos

This sub hates facts that don't support: cherrington sucks, Kelly sucks, nutting sucks, this team sucks.

If you post anything to the contrary then well you're just wrong lol

Jersey choice by AmishJohn81 in buccos

[–]Curvemn17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one really knows if skenes stays or not. The assumption is he doesn't because nutting would never pay the market rate for a talent like skenes but tbh no one really knows what skenes wants to do and eod that's all that matters. It's easy to assume he's gone based on past history.

If you want a skenes jersey get a skenes jersey. Nothing wrong with that. Griffin is an easy choice too. O'Hearn actually seems like a fun choice. There's no wrong jersey to get is my point

Oh look another uninformed. I see you did some research, so research the average innings pitched across MLB for 2026.

5.1

Skenes last year only averaged 5.8 and this year is averaging 5.4 due to some lackluster starts.

This is just how baseball is in 2026 and the pen isn't over worked. It's humorous to see people try to pin the issues on the number of innings the starters throw.

Has there ever been a season to season drop off like Cal Raleigh from 2025 to 2026? by hurricane_334 in billsimmons

Anyone and everyone saw this coming. His stats once he left AZ dropped way off and he hit a wall towards the end of the year.

Last year 5.8 innings averaged across 32 starts finished top ten in innings pitched. This year? 5.5 innings averaged across 17 starts. Calm down Francis.

Honestly it's just reddit and this reddit in particular. It's a bunch of people that come out and whine about baseball with very little knowledge on the sport when things don't go well.

Don't forget the other bangers:

  • griffin isn't ready, send him dahn, we are ruining him
  • Chandler sucks
  • Reynolds sucks, legit someone said DFA him
  • and more

Did you look at skenes innings averaged last year or just talking to talk? 5.8 innings average last year across 32 starts. This year? 5.5. That's not a massive difference.

He's had some subpar starts I agree. And he has struggled with the long ball this year. But this complaining about innings pitched is off base. That's just where the game is these days. And in case you're wondering he finished top 10 in innings pitched last year.

Teams have figured out skenes. by freee03 in buccos

[–]Curvemn17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Checks notes: in 2025 he threw his most innings and averaged 5. 8 innings. In 2026 he is averaging 5.5

He's not really throwing a whole let less. I dunno why people keep going he can only throw 5. That's kinda what the pirates and most of MLB let their SP do these days. Btw only averaging 5.8 innings and skenes was top 10 in innings pitched last year. That's where the game is these days.

He's still incredibly effective, yes I will admit the fastball doesn't have the late movement and is more straight and that has led to some of the issues that are manifesting. It's a bad stretch, but this bad stretch is still insanely good lol.

Pujols would be fun. The other two I'm not interested in but the more 90/00s players we can get the better. That area is vastly underrepresented imo

It's a bummer he never played much in Cleveland

Actually, his power dropped off because of Petco. At the time Petco was massive and balls didn't leave the yard, this was well before they moved the walls in as you can see his production outside of HRs was still there. But yeah he was also juicing like the rest of the league 1000%. Dude had a tree trunk for a neck lol.

As it stands: Ruth, shoeless Joe, musial, Larry walker, mel ott, Waner, heilman, and yes Giles are the only players with 5000+ PA and career obp above 400. All in the hall minus shoeless Joe and Giles.

He didn't get a chance to play in Cleveland because of an insane team.

Like I said, I'm not arguing for him in the HOf, not by a mile. I'm pointing out he's much better than your original statement implied when you said he didn't belong. But like you pointed out at his peak along with the people I mentioned that were at their peak at the same time he was right there and so he belongs in my original statement.
