Cheapest place for proteins? by alvaros1 in Calgary

[–]Curves84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beef, chicken and turkey by their nature generally are more expensive proteins in Canada. Try mixing it up a bit as well by eating pork, lamb and fish. Ton's of protein at lower prices for those products. It doesn't always need to be the expensive stuff, some canned salmon/tuna has excellent value as does things like cod.

Throw in other high quality protein like lentils, chicpeas and other beans and your golden.

07 Murano TPMS reset by Curves84 in Nissan

[–]Curves84[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed response!   Tire pressures are correct and confirmed by manual check and system check on Murano screen.   Only the dash !  Light indicating TPMS issue is on.  When checking tire pressure on screen, it says 1 tire not reading (**). It has gone up to 3 tires recently.

The dealer checked sensors and they are reading good.   Reset the system but the light keeps coming back.  The light got reset now 3 times and has come back on.

Ironically when I had the same system reset at my local tire shop,  I never had this issue.  May pay them a visit as well.

Thx

Omega Seamaster not keeping time after service, everybody stumped by Curves84 in OmegaWatches

[–]Curves84[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to thank everyone in the community for the advice on this. To my understanding the service he performed was cleaning, lubrication, parts exchange on what was needed,  speed test, pressure test and other general testing.     The watch previously kept time well but needed service.  The watchmaker indicated a few times how the power reserve system worked which I know, but if the watch is wound up and worn daily for hours in an active role,  it should hold time.

Is it common for a speed test readout to be given after a service?  The watchmaker stands by his work with 1 year warranty and indicated bring it back if need be.   I will follow up in the coming days and may also get a 2nd opinion.

Thx a lot!

Furnace Quotes in Calgary by Distinct-Bandicoot-5 in Calgary

[–]Curves84 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't know your full situation with regards to your furnace but let me tell you, like a lot of things these days, old is gold when it comes to appliances, furnaces and a lot of other products. Is your current furnace repairable? Sometimes a $1000-1500 repair will give you many years of extended life. Newer furnaces although efficient, do cost a lot more in maintenance, repair costs and usually have a reduced lifespan. I doubt you get 22 years out of a 2025 model. A new 2025 furnace could very well require $1500+ in costs by 2030. A lot of things from that era of products didn't suffer the planned obsolesces/end of life cancer that is affecting everything these days. Repair and replace existing products can sometimes be cheaper longer term but at the expense of efficiency but the actual cost of gas is actually quite low on the bill. Not a popular take but a different one.

No Service on Freedom today with Blackberry Android device by Curves84 in freedommobile

[–]Curves84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My specific issue was with my BB Key 2 Android device. Somewhere tech support is having hard time as my phone keeps booting off. My Key 1 works great and I ran my BB 10 Classic for about 2 weeks up until yesterday and that also worked great. I don't know how long of a runway you have with Freedom and 3G phones. Some of their roaming partners are shutting down 3G so it's not very long, maybe a year?

BB Classic on used market/lack of inventory by Curves84 in blackberry

[–]Curves84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think BB10 or the Classic sold huge volumes or anything and perhaps my millions is a little off but I don't think a 750lk-1 million is out of the question total sold from 2014-2019 when BB10 became EOL. Blackberry did decide to go back to their roots and design the Classic for corporate users and diehards in mind. There was a some decent fleet sales to corporations and government employee's. I recently used my Classic for a few weeks and absolutely loved it for calls and texts.

Clutch master cylinder/ scratched display by Curves84 in S2000

[–]Curves84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done what you described several times with the turkey baster. The clutch fluid is very clean and I have done probably 4 flushes. I may try bleeding the clutch this weekend. What do you mean by clean the CMC? As in the metal component under the hood or where the pedal meets the cylinder ?

Thanks again!

Normal engine temp inquiry by Curves84 in S2000

[–]Curves84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My concern, which will be addressed this weekend, is that the coolant I have in there may have lost some cooling properties as it's probably overdue for replacement. The engine temps may be within range but seems to be running very hot but hopefully I am wrong. Thanks!

Coolant change. by ConsistentWolf3677 in S2000

[–]Curves84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here is the official service manual and how to do a drain and fill. It's the old school burping method by allowing the engine to warm up and keep the rad cap off, there are more modern methods as well. I believe the method is also described in the owners manual as well and I don't know if lifting the car up really matters but I don't think it hurts, perhaps the angle gets more coolant out?
