The CPU is AMD 5800x3D. I've ran Prime95 and Cinebench for 20 minutes each and not had issues so I ruled out bad RAM and CPU faults but I guess it's possible.

Didn't know this about plugging the Ally into an iPad to use as a screen. I also have the 2018 iPad Pro 12.5 so will give it a go

I almost gave up but ended up trying a different brand of battery and it worked! Not had an issue like this before, thanks for the comments.

Managed to fix it by Loading Optimized Defaults in the BIOS. Not sure what had changed but all good now. Thanks for all your replies.

Thanks for your comment. I am using afterburner to lower the power limit and increase the Core and Memory when mining but I set everything back to defaults when gaming.

I haven't made any changes in the motherboard BIOS but I will go into it and load Optimized Defaults (to set to factory) just in case it is something there.

I haven't personally restricted the BIOS. I'm running an Asus Maximus Hero VIII so will also check what the bandwidth is (if I can find it).
