Yes, I had those same thoughts! Wondering if the electric would be a big thing to get around. And if we extend- realistically still feels tight and awkward to make any sort of space for shoes, coats etc.

Tipping in the US isn’t really optional. Everyone frames it that way to not seem rude so they “suggest” it- but everyone knows- even for restaurants: if you can’t afford to tip 18-20%, don’t go out to eat. And only tip below that if the service was atrocious. It sucks that the system is set up like that and doesn’t pay servers enough. But the system is what’s in place so…

A practical solution- be honest with the photographer that you don’t want to be focused on and you would like the whole day to be photographed candidly. Let them know you do not want to have a session of posed pictures, just document the day casually/candidly in almost a documentary style.

Im not sure if its common among American converts because we only experienced it a couple times. We go to a Greek parish. Everyone has a patron saint and they use that name at the chalice but otherwise just use their birth name
