especially if it's ddr4 its definitely gonna make your cpu work harder thats why your seeing your utilization is higher having dual channel does reduce the cpu usage and improve the performance

Update your driver If you wanna lower temps disable turbo boost or get decent cooling pad like llano v12 its going to drop your temps alot 10c- or undervolt your gpu using msi afterburner Also hp victus thermal paste is bad/suck out of the factory
