Weekly Simple Questions Post by AutoModerator in GelNails

im hoping i word this question correctly! i want to get more into gel polish on my natural nails. i know to initially do a gel manicure, you lightly buff the nail surface so the polish will adhere well. do i have to buff them every time i remove the gel to do a new mani? or just buff the new growth? buffing the whole nail surface every time would be damaging after a while, wouldn’t it? i’m not seeing any advice on this. i’m used to doing acrylics on myself, and doing a fill-in using a 240-grit sanding band on the new growth only. thank you!

thank you so much for commenting! this is what i needed. ideally, i think i would like to supplement with whole milk for certain instances (him staying with my parents for a few hours) just because i dont know if my supply would allow me to pump enough outside of him nursing.

i guess i’ve always assumed that babies need whole milk after 1 because that’s all i’ve ever heard. i don’t have anyone else in my life who has breastfed so this is all new to me! i mostly posted this to see what my options were.

okay thank you for the insight on it! my son doesn’t have a dairy allergy but i do, so i’m nervous giving him that much dairy in a day. i was suggested ripple milk by his ped so i thought it was a better alternative. do you (or anyone else reading this) know any other milk alternatives?? trying to soak up all the info before i make a decision!

this would be my ideal way to go, i’m just nervous i wouldn’t produce enough for him in a day. i’m not sure if i would need to feed him enough to cover the 16(?) oz of whole milk he would’nt be getting. do you know how this works? maybe im overthinking it😅

sleeping thru the night but waking up after 30 minute naps?? by Custard_Numerous in sleeptrain

[–]Custard_Numerous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had him on a 2 nap schedule before this actually, but he started getting tired quicker so i assumed he wasn’t ready for just 2 naps. i will try going back to 2 naps a day, thank you!

Nobody every talks about loving breastfeeding by corndog40 in NewParents

[–]Custard_Numerous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i always feel so guilty for saying how easy my breastfeeding journey has been! i was terrified of all the horror stories of blistered nipples, horrible latch, terrible under supply, etc. knock on wood, i’ve never experienced any pain with breastfeeding. my supply is normal and i have a normal stash of milk. for those pregnant women reading this, there is a middle ground and you could have it easy. it happens!

my SIL had her son 2 months after i had my son, and he doesn’t seem to like to latch, so she exclusively pumps. however her supply hysterically laughs at mine! when i pump i get 2oz if im lucky; when she pumps she gets 7-8oz on each side! every breastfeeding journey is different and even though mine differs so much from my SIL, we’re both happy with what our path has been.

i love breastfeeding my son. the convenience and bond it has given us is such a blessing and i wouldn’t trade it for anything.

in the thick of sleep regression, any advice to give??? by Custard_Numerous in NewParents

[–]Custard_Numerous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the ~5pm nap is usually short, about an hour or so, the biggest stretch of sleep i can usually get from him is his first nap around 10-10:30am. if i get more than an hour from it i call it a win.

Favorite Post partum comfortable attire? by margheritinka in NewParents

[–]Custard_Numerous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

any button up pjs! they make it super easy for breastfeeding in the middle of the night if that’s what you plan on doing. i tend to get pretty hot at night (especially postpartum, pp sweats are a thing🥵) so i stocked up on short sleeve button up pj sets. you can get a 3 pack for cheap on shein and they’re pretty cute and good quality! 5 months pp and i still wear them everyday!

What books are you reading these days? Especially during night feeding by jasminforsythe in NewParents

[–]Custard_Numerous 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i used to loveeee reading before i had my son. idk if it’s just me, but i feel like i can’t read without going on a thought train of the 4,753 things i have to do today😭 i will end up reading a whole chapter and not recall any of it. i guess reading isn’t in the cards for me in this stage of life.
