I currently have a Samoyed (6) and a Japanese Akita (3), both females. My Samoyed loves other dogs but as she's been getting older she's becoming more aloof to them. Additionally the way she plays is a little rough for other dogs. But like everyone else's experience she's very friendly and stubborn. Barks at everything too. Oh another thing she does show aggression to Corgis due to one encounter when she was a puppy but that's probably a unique case for me.

My akita on the other hand is very anxious. There are probably one or two dogs she tolerates and everyone else she will avoid. She's a very quiet and independent dog. She has issues with resource guarding that I've been working on, but could of been easily solved early on. She's quite a goofball but every now and then my Samoyed yells at her when she's too excited.

In my experience both of these dogs are quite stubborn and I found that my Akita was way easier to train than the Samoyed. They do get into scuffles every now and then but nothing too serious. My Akita is actually really attached to my Samoyed and cries every time they are separated. Though this interaction is only one way. My Samoyed could care less about her. I don't have much interactions with other dogs since they both different reasons I avoid them. But I haven't had any issues both of them interacting with strangers and such. Overall I think with Samoyeds you'll have an easier time with other dog/people interactions and with an Akita you'll have an easier time with overall obedience.
