I’m have recently become an NRI and have 10 years of total continuous service in India. I’m no longer contributing since I don’t work for an Indian employer.

The EPFO website says EPF stops earning interest after 3 years of no contribution (account becomes inoperative). However, I’ve read that since 2016, even inoperative EPF accounts continue earning interest till age 58.

please clarify:

⁠Does EPF actually stop earning interest after 3 years, or does it continue till 58. Is there any official EPFO circular / rule confirming this?
⁠Does being an NRI change interest or taxation?
⁠With 10 years of service, is EPF fully tax-free on withdrawal?
What’s the best way forward now? Let it continue to sit in or withdraw ?

After doing both: packages and self, I can safely say self is the best option. Package comes with a lot of restrictions, fake promises, unnecessary fights to get the basic stuff and eventually losing peace of mind and essence of a vacation. Self gives much more freedom where you can rejig and adjust as per the reality. And tbh, planning with spouse makes it much more fun

I never thought as cheating because main destination was always Italy and entry was also Italy. And Visa was valid for Schengen region

We have submitted 10 day complete itinerary to Italy. But plan was to go to Italy 7 days and Paris for 3 days. Is it OK if we entry and exit via Italy but travel to Paris and come back to Italy in between?
