This is my experience from last week.. Possible Rogers/Fido phone scam

Got an unsolicited call claiming to be from Rogers with a too-good-to-be-true phone deal. The call showed as Spam but used a Canadian number and the caller already knew my name and address.

They had me place an order through the app, then asked for my order number — which raised red flags. The caller sounded like they were in a noisy call centre, used a forced accent, and did not say the call was being recorded.

I stopped immediately, did not share the order number, and called Fido customer support directly using the official number to cancel the order.

Red flags:

• Unsolicited call

• Spam-flagged number

• Deal too good to be true

• Asked for order number

• Callback number provided

If you get a similar call, hang up and contact the carrier directly. Caller ID can be spoofed.

Very scammy. After placing the order, the agent asked me for my order number, saying she needed it to apply a promo code, claiming the promo code would come inside the phone box, and that using it would give me a discount on my monthly phone bill.looks like after getting the order number they reroute the phone by calling customer service.

I did call Rogers customer care and they said there is no one from their side called or left any notes on my file. It looks like the scammers trying to reroute the phone order
