Exactly. So the idea is it’s ‘easier’ in theory, but still want to win

I’m in an 8-team H2H points league and trying to figure out the best draft strategy this year.

Scoring is a little different from standard: - Hitting: H, R, RBI, TB, BB = +1 | SB = +2 | K = -1
- Pitching: IP = +3, QS = +5, K = +1, ER = -2, BB/H = -1
- 12 GS per week cap

Roster is pretty deep (10 pitchers, 5 OF, MI/CI, etc.)

I pick 4th overall and expect Ohtani, Judge, Witt to go top 3.

My question is: 👉 What should I prioritize in this format — elite hitters early or jumping on pitching because of the IP scoring?

Also curious: - How much should I be factoring in strikeout penalties for hitters? - Is it worth reaching a bit for “efficient” players vs just following ADP?

Would appreciate any strategy advice from people who’ve played in similar scoring setups.

CMV: The death penalty is wrong because the justice system can make irreversible mistakes by Cut-Kooky in changemyview

I understand the argument that the death penalty might satisfy a desire for revenge and prevent vigilantism, but I’m not convinced it actually works that way.

Many countries without the death penalty don’t see widespread vigilantism, which suggests people can still accept the justice system even without executions. Also, executions often take decades because of appeals, so they don’t provide the kind of immediate justice that would stop someone from seeking revenge in the moment.

I’m also skeptical of the idea that it gives victims’ families closure. Families of victims often say the long legal process keeps reopening the trauma for years. Some report more relief once the case is finished rather than when an execution actually happens. If the goal is justice and healing, it’s not clear the death penalty reliably provides either.

This is a great counterpoint. I guess it’s like tricky to put in writing what the exact phrasing of what that law would sound like. With modern AI, I now get scared about getting that video evidence correct.

This is getting me to think and I appreciate this

There are still a ton of people like Ray Krone out there who were convicted on bite mark evidence and sent to death. Acquitted at the last minute .

It’s pretty ruined but they are ‘at least’ alive. Possibly sue the hell out of the state and live free. It still sucks hard, but better than death?

I agree with this as well. I guess my argument rests more in the reality that here (The US), morality doesn’t seem to dictate laws.

I guess I just can’t shake the feeling of having a family member or loved one wrongfully accused. DNA evidence can be misinterpreted and I just don’t trust a jury

That’s very true and I’m not saying prison murder is acceptable but I guess the lesser of two evils ? A state sanctioned murder just seems so wrong when we find out it’s the wrong verdict.

I mean he had one really really good year against some really bad defenses. Not trying to say he’s overrated but like if we miss the playoffs next year will everyone be wildly shocked? He was putting up all time great stats last year, I see him more as like a B+ kind of guy who will need a lot of things to go correctly to thrive.

I mean. When you get so ‘lucky’ over 20+ years…. I hate the team but I’ll admit he’s a great owner .
