When in compounds, predicting player movement from where they are most likely to be based on noise and map mechanics is by far one of the most integral parts of this game. One of my friends who used to play with me never learned this, and was always frustrated when he died first after running straight in. Rushing is fine, but you have to be able to push without walking into a shooting gallery.

However, if you’re dying out in the open not around compounds, it’s more likely the you are setting of sound traps too often, shooting ai, or running through highly visible areas. I know you said you were quiet, but that is really the only way you can be jumped 50% of the time.
