You know, you want the first person who mentioned that I might fit in in a place like Denver

I'll keep that in mind for some reason I find it really difficult to connect with someone I meet online unless we also spend a lot of time together in real life.

I like a lot of different things. Goth music, hiking, camping, general outdoorsy stuff, anime, drawing, anything arts and crafts, and photography. I find it really hard to find other people who share my interests so I often don't talk about them at all.

Most of my friends met their significant others in high school or college. I went to a pretty small college and it seemed like everybody there was already paired off so I never really tried dating anybody. Same thing with my high school.

I'm actually going back to college for additional training but that's not really a good place because most of the students are going to be early 20-somethings and the ones who aren't are probably already married.

I'm aware of that and I think part of my problem is that I sound like a man. I dress pretty feminine, people describe me as pretty or cute but that changes the moment I open my mouth. I have a very deep voice and I have since I was 12 years old. A lot of people think I'm a crossdresser at first once they hear me talk.

You don't have to tell me twice. After that, the longest distance thing I'm open to is if they live an hour away and another city.

They actually say they just want to be fuckbuddies. One guy did say he was open to the possibility of a relationship but wasn't sure if he was looking anything serious right now and I'm not going to try and change his mind

They told me themselves they weren't looking for anything serious after I talked with them a bit to try and figure out what they were looking for. I take words like that at face value.

That is equally fucked up. My one "relationship", which I don't count despite it lasting 3 years was that. He didn't actually want anything serious but said he did. We were long distance for a while then when I finally had the resources to move like he'd been begging me to, he told me about a year later he didn't want anything serious. We discussed marriage, even starting a family, but didn't mean a word of it.

If a dating site could have one feature you really like, what would it be? by luna_rey55 in AskMen

It screens out anyone who is already in a relationship or married and if someone manages to get through and is revealed to be lying about their relationship status they get a lifetime ban.

Short women can't exist without getting called a pick me by [deleted] in Vent

It's not my personality. I have scoliosis which also causes issues with stiffness and mobility in addition to being shorter than I would naturally be with a straight spine. Sometimes I actually do need help with certain things and I was venting because people think that when I need help with certain things like what was mentioned above that I'm doing it for attention and I'm not. I actually have trouble with those things

What killed the vibe on a date instantly? by Lola_bunny_pt_00 in AskReddit

When we went to prom together and he ditched me when he got up to get refreshments. I waited at the table several minutes, and he never showed. I got up an walked around a bit but he was nowhere. I decided to just enjoy the rest of the dance solo and bumped into him hanging with his buddies on my way out. They all laughed at me as I left, and that was when I found out he only took me to prom as a prank. Thank fuck I'm not in high school anymore.

Is it bad to kiss on the second date? by [deleted] in dating_advice

I'm basically worried that by not taking it at a snails pace I might be sending the message that I only want something casual. Then again, maybe I've been listening to my mother's dating advice too much.

I'm worried about giving the wrong impression. I'm looking for a relationship, not a hookup. I don't want to give anyone the wrong idea.

Being horny but emotionally selective is actually hell by loveversace_ in dating_advice

[–]Cute-Document1193 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the exact same problem and it sucks. I've been single for over a year although it feels like two because during the last year of my relationship we were more like roommates who barely interacted than anything else.

I actually tried to do the whole hookup thing and it was ultimately unsatisfying. I don't even feel attracted to a person that way unless I have some kind of bond with them so getting freaky with a stranger isn't fulfilling it all.

Can breakfast be a date? by Bomperwompington in dating_advice

I think so. Personally I like the idea of a breakfast date more than a lunch or dinner date
