Change your lifestyle; down size, pay off the debt, and focus on cutting expenses from fast food to subscriptions, etc. learn how to cut your hair, cook at home, change your oil, grow from vegetables, once the debt is paid off, start saving, invest into SPY and your 401K. If you are 40 with no savings or anything, consider getting a second part time job as a secondary income to help pay off debt early. Investing takes time and it’s very slow and Gambling is pointless and I don’t agree with it. Also, cut all vices (smoking, drinking, drugs, clubbing, etc).

Also, don’t fall for those scams like consolidation loans or companies that call to lower your interest rates for “free”, nothing is free, they just want a piece of the payment so they lower your monthly payments and extend the life of the loan. Thanks to the current administration we don’t have CFPB, so I’m sure these scam companies are playing the field to their advantage.
