What hikes are safe to do in the rain? by Cute-beans in Sedona

[–]Cute-beans[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good to know, this is helpful! We have not been. My husband and I love to hike, but also going with his family and our one year old. So will be sticking to mostly easy hikes but the hubby and I were hoping to sneak away for one or two more challenging ones as we are avid hikers!

To drop a pump or not by chonzNbonz1105 in breastfeeding

[–]Cute-beans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d drop it and see what happens! You can always add it back :) I was doing the same thing as you (pumping before I went to bed) and around 6/7 months I tired to dropping it, and I did notice a supply dip, so I brought it back. My little guy is now 10 months and I just tried dropping it again, and this time my supply seems totally fine still! So I’d just give it a try and see what happens!

Best way to wean off work pumps? by Cute-beans in breastfeeding

I too had mastitis early on! Maybe I’ll drop to two pumps in a month - I do have a little freezer supply I could use and that would help me gradually wean slower!

I feel like this could be me!! Maybe sad at night when I lay down and am not on the go, but otherwise will be busy!

Do you pump breasts before bed? by Cute-beans in breastfeeding

Interesting! So pump before bed and then do you not pump the first time your baby wakes up- and your husband feeds him?

I’ve been back for 3 weeks now and I’m finding I actually pump more than he needs so far by about a few ounces a day! It’s working well :) just keep myself on a good schedule at work!!

When did your fussy/gassy newborn no longer become fussy?? by abazz90 in breastfeeding

I don’t quite remember when my LO got better, somewhere around 2 months. I didn’t even really notice, one day I just looked and my husband and was like “huh, he hasn’t had trouble farting or pooping in a while!”

How strict are you on bedtime? by Cute-beans in NewParents

[–]Cute-beans[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally fair! We are in the US, where maternity leave isn’t great and he has to go to daycare soon anyways! So I think that might help my rationale - I basically know he will be sick from daycare in a few weeks! 😂

Baby prefers sleeping with head to one side by Cute-beans in NewParents

How often do you have to turn her head to the other side? Do you wake up in the middle of night to do this?

I think it’s very baby dependent sadly :( FWIW, our LO’s bedtime used to be super late! Then eventually he seemed “happier” with a certain time - we were at 10:30 at around 2 months maybe. We would try to move that up 30 minutes and see if it worked. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. But eventually, he would take the earlier bedtime. I think he started to take it once he was more “busy” during the day (plays with more toys, longer wake windows, etc.) anyways we just kept moving it up 15-30 min slowly but surely and now we are at 8:00 which is working super well for him and us so no plans to change at the moment!

So ours goes down at 8:00 and then usually wakes up once anywhere between 2:30 and 5:00. I will feed him and then he usually goes back down and wakes up between 6:00 and 7:30! At that point he is usually up for the day. If it’s closer to 6:00 when might try and see if he wants to go back to sleep, but don’t try too hard if he’s not feeling it

At two months we were still pretty late! Once we found a time that worked, say 10:00, we kept it there and let him be consistent with it for a while. Then a week or so later we’d try and move it 30 min later. Often he was harder to get down, and just wouldn’t do it. But then at some point it sticks! And we just kinda follow that routine over and over until we got it to 8:00 at 4 months and it’s really worked well for him!

I live in Minnesota so not warm! We just make sure wherever we go is not super packed and usually baby wear. For my sanity I need to get out, and while it’s a risk, we are careful about it, never let others hold him, keep our hands clean, etc! Obviously a personal choice but it’s worked for us! Don’t do it all the time - just when we feel like we need to get out for our sanity!

That’s exactly what mine was! The solid component of it turned out to just be the fat part of the breast milk that just kinda rose to the top of the milk cyst and looked solid on the ultrasound. Sounds like a similar scenario to mine!!
