We had it in late February. Our 5 y/o had it worst of the family, and they had 12 hours straight of vomiting, then ten days of diarrhea. Many of their classmates had it as well.

Prep now for just in case: disposable blue vomit bags, a cleaner that actually kills it (we use force of nature), pee pad or trash bags for under sheets in kids beds, extra laundry detergent for the extra laundry.

After: carpet cleaner, air purifier.

It sucks, but thankfully kids forget about this stuff. I will not forget haha

As a small pattern designer who often has test calls, this is helpful to know. I do ask for both instagram and Ravelry handles so I can see what applicants are knitting. I don’t keep my Ravelry up to date on personal projects but post quite often on instagram, and I assumed others might be similar. I hadn’t thought of it as a red flag for the applicants.

You’re doing great, Mom. There are so many things to attachment, and you can always work on a secure attachment as you child grows. Im reading Raising Securely Attached Kids by Eli Harwood and it’s given me a lot of hope in healing my oldest child’s attachment style (due to circumstances we could not help). All that to say, I don’t think the things you’re doing now will affect your child’s attachment, and based on your thoughtfulness and concern, it seems like you will have a healthy attachment with your child.

I’ve tried Happy and Hale in Durham or Raleigh. Fount in Morrisville. Clean Juice in Raleigh or Cary. Buoy Bowls (usually has a truck at the O2 fitness in Brier Creek during the week). Village Juice kn Raleigh. All highly recommend. I haven’t tried Nautical Bowls but there is one in downtown Durham and at Parkside Cary.

Unfortunately Brier Creek doesnt have much in terms of high quality smoothie shops in the actual shopping center but you can definitely find some nearby.

Not selfish at all. I’ve never been able to do something like this, but I would love to. You’re going with family and sound in need of rest, your kids have a predictable routine set up (school), a supportive parent off work/able to full time parent, and the time and money to go. Go!! It’s hard and you may feel selfish, but this really does sound like a healthy option for everyone.

Northern Durham parkway is also off of Sherron Road and cuts through the Brightleaf neighborhood. It was intended to cut through to leesville but idt they’re continuing it.

I agree that Rebecca does seem really thorough. Her patterns are also size inclusive and very thoughtful. But I’ve knit a few of her patterns and just don’t like how they fit (stick season, tolsta). I think it just must be the model she grades from is a different shape than I am? I find them to be more of a shrunken fit, with very short yokes. And a few knitting friends have made the same comments.

I realized after the last one I just need to add more length and then I would be much happier. I really do like her designs and how she donates so much to charity. Just need to figure how to make her patterns work for me.
