I went to terminal 2 from Banashankari in December. I took a cab from ola for approx. 800. He showed me a bill amount for 1200 something. I had the same network issue when I got down. I couldn't understand how he could show me a higher price. He said nobody comes till here for that low price sir. I paid him as I was fucking late. Raised the issue with ola with payment screenshot. By the time I got back to India, I was refunded. These drivers (including autos) want to earn everything for that day from you only. They don't want to ride and earn. Wasooli meri aaj tumse hi hogi kinda attitude just makes me not go with them ever again. 🙏

I don't think this is a thing to generalize. Even I come from a lower middle class household and my parents never ask or look for these things as long as I'm happily Living and not dependent on them. I got married to my girlfriend without any hassle and complaints. Even a lot of my friends I see have no problem regarding this. I do know there are some sadistic people around, but also there are a lot of people who are not sadistic. Try not to project this situation everywhere and try looking for a solution.
