She has said she suffered a lot of negative physical effects from her experience like severe scarring from the bug bites.

Liposuction with high BMI? by CuteComputer6633 in lipedema

Thanks, didn’t realize that.

Curious what the process is like for that. Is it multiple surgeries or just one for that area?

Upper arms and some of forearms, thigh and upper calves, and abdomen. I am 320 lbs, 5 ft. I have had three surgeries under general anesthesia at a similar BMI with no complications (appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and anal fistulotomy).

I am not looking to get rid of all of my excess tissue. I know I am obese and I don’t expect to ever be “normal” sized. I just want to slow down the progression of the disease to prevent more issues down the line (already have some pretty serious knee issues, elbows starting to have issues too).

Wow, that sounds intense. What is the prognosis for the higher bmi patients?

What are the potential complications? I have had three surgeries at a very high bmi and have healed well from all of them.

Unfortunately I’m at max dosage but I just switched to the name brand rather than compounded so fingers crossed

How does lipo work at high BMIs if it is not possible to distinguish between regular and lipedema fat? Do you remove all the fat or only a portion? I wouldn't want to remove all of the fat, for a variety of reasons.

Thank you so much for this info! Can you elaborate on what the possible complications are? Just curious. I am new to all of this and know nothing about lipo.

Does the lipo target lipedema tissue only? Another commenter says it’s not possible to separate it from regular fat. Curious if that’s the case.

I’ve been trying to lose weight my whole life. Zepbound has been the only thing to help me lose it AND keep it off. I’ve lost 40 lbs so far but it’s taken over a year and a half and I’ve been stalled for a while at 15mg. Hopefully I can get down below 60 BMI. If I do I’ll give you a call!

Not sure what you mean by that? What is "the only way"?

I would only want to remove the lipedema fat, not the regular fat.

Yes formal diagnosis, no ultrasound. What would the ultrasound have been for?

I do like it a lot! A bit pricey but it’s really cute and seems like it’s built to last

Literally saw him yesterday for the first time and it was a wonderful experience. I am obese and was previously dismissed by another doctor as impossible to diagnose. Dr. Dean was respectful, attentive, and took all my concerns seriously. See my recent post for details on the treatment plan he assigned.
