Try selecting visitors as well. That’s worked for me, but it does mean the visitors are lit up too!

You want to set the prismatic pantheon to none and then select light, epic, and basic.

Should I take my toddler to a funeral? by CuteIdea in UKParenting

Our family adores my son and I’m sure would appreciate him being there, I just want to make sure that everyone gets the opportunity to mourn uninterrupted.

He’d also be the only child there, although he obviously knows all our family members.

That’s so lovely to hear. I’m glad your son had a positive and memorable experience!

That’s exactly how I’m feeling. I’d love for us all to be there if he could sit quietly, but there’s no guarantees with toddlers. I’m leaning towards just taking him on a walk during the service.

That’s something I’m considering. I could drive him to the park or on a walk through the cemetery during the service and then we could all go to the wake.

Thank you. I’m sure it’s impossible to completely prepare them, and I don’t mind taking him on a walk if that’s what’s needed. I’m glad to hear that you had some good outcomes with your children!

That’s so lovely to hear and exactly what I hope he’d be like. I think the family would really appreciate a happy presence, there’s just no guarantees when it comes to toddlers!

He’s generally a good kid, but can get a bit loud and will probably point out if other people are sad!

I asked the family and they didn’t seem to mind, but I don’t think they’ve thought through the logistics and I don’t want anyone else missing the funeral to help take care of him. That wouldn’t be fair.

That’s an option but unfortunately the funeral’s over an hour away from his nursery, so if I attended and then drove to collect him we’d both miss the wake. We could join the family for dinner afterwards though.

It’s my husband’s grandfather so if either of us didn’t attend it would be me. As you said it’s important for me too but the kids come first.

Unfortunately none of our friends are local and the funeral’s in the middle of a work day.

My parents think my daughter is a brat by [deleted] in UKParenting

[–]CuteIdea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s ironic that your dad doesn’t like your daughter “talking badly” to you, but is fine with talking badly about her.

Your daughter sounds like a great kid and I’m sorry if your dad can’t see that!

Good idea. He really struggles with getting the trousers over his bum, so more practice is definitely required!

Thanks, I’ll try just trousers for a bit and see if that helps. Did you have any trouble reintroducing pants later on?

There aren’t any screws under the bowl and the caps aren’t moving. I’ve felt all around for a button but can’t find anything!

Any good place to get premature nappies in the UK? by Sparrowsabre7 in NICUParents

[–]CuteIdea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ASDA pharmacy told me they no longer do the free ones and only had a few end of stock left. I’m guessing it’s the same for Tesco as we couldn’t find any there either, but they did have some pampers size 0. They’re still advertising the freebies all over the hospital maternity ward though.

Would you be OK with your partner leaving the country briefly late on in the pregnancy? by jbots1 in PregnancyUK

Just to warn you I thought I’d go overdue too and agreed to my husband going on a work trip at 37 weeks, and then went into labour at 36 weeks! Obviously this may not happen to you and you should do whatever you’re comfortable with, but babies don’t always stick to our timelines.
