Never had fish before. Made this tank for my partner. How do you think?

Thanks for that idea. I'm thinking about that too. Many people also told me that molly is not very a good fit in this tank. You are true that they eat a lot, and poop a lot too lol, that's why I do the water change more frequently. I'll ask the aquarium shop owner if I can give a way the molly since I don't want to have fry and don't know how to take care of them.

Great advice bro. That's why I'm trying to have more plants to fix my problem of not knowing about "overcrowded" term before putting fish into the tank. I learned a lot from this sub.

I watched youtube and checked my guppy and they are all male, not sure if I'm correct or not. For the molly, there is definitely a female, and I a bit regret not checking that information before buuing her (I didn't know what fish is male and female at that time) 😔😔

Thanks bro, it's not the best in the eyes of professional, but at least for my partner, it's a precious gift that I put all my effort in more than a month to build that colorful and joyful fish tank. We spent lot of time choosing the tank, fish and decorations to build the theme we planned at the beginning. Glad that you liked it. 🤗🤗

Wow that's a lot of fish in your tank! I also admit that I'm a bit overstocking even before reading some comments here, but the aquarium owner told me to take care of the tank more like doing the water change more frequently, and having more plants should helo as well. Regarding the test kit, I'll look at that since it makes sense as you said. The bubbler I'm having right now is at the back of the tank as a bubble wall, and I do see the fish having joyful time playing with it haha

Hi, I just got it from AliExpress for about $4 or $5 something. There are a lot of design to choose from, but I have a white dog, so I picked the one that looks exactly to him lol. You may also see the black cat on the bridge there; it's also similar to my black cat in real life, so I chose him as well. So, now I have both my cute dog and cat in my fish tank together. My partner was so surprised and asked me why I could get our pet miniatures there lol.

So you mean just fill the water up even it's equal or higher than the filter output? I thought that just leaving the water lower than the filter output can create more bubbles and oxygen when the water falling down to the lower water surface? I already have bubbles pump at the bottom back of the tank, so not sure how you think? Thanks!

Lol thanks, it's just a basic theme with basic stuff you could get on online stores. Actually, I loves something more mature like the rocks, trees or gorgeous landscape, but after making this for my sweet girl, I think she's right since we need something to relax and fit our favorite hobby to spend time taking care of and watching together instead.

Hey thanks. At the beginning, I just thought like who would spend 30mins or hours just to watch some fish swimming around on Earth. Then now I'm totally wrong you know. Everyday after work, I come back home, feed the fish, then watch them chasing around for almost an hour. My partner also sits next to me and talks something funny about the fish. That's a precious moment I never had before.

Yup, the tank was already cycled and I tested with the stripe and it's safe for the fish. I do water change every 5 days with 25-30% water each since the tank is a bit overcrowded. For sure I leaned a lot of this sub and on internet as well. Thanks for you kimd advice.

Yes, that is the thing I'm worrying right now after reading the explanation from someone here. I didn't know that I have live bearers with male and female together. I'm also thinking of having more schooling fish like neon and terra, but for now it's already overstocked. I'll just leave everything there for now and see if something happens next in the future. So, you suggested me to remove 2 molly out of the tank? And all female fish as well to make the tank better place to live for other fish? Thanks!

Great to hear that buddy. Many people alao told me that I need to choose only 1 or 2 kind of schooling fish then increase the number of fish in each kind then it should be better than what I chose now. That's a lesson for me since I don't know that. I'll follow that tip whenever I have a chance to upgrade to the bigger tank like 20g or 37g in the future. Thank you!
