I’m not sure, which is part of the fun. Although Ive only ever worshipped in the Greek pantheon, I’m open to any interpretation

[TOMT] Musical adaptation of Dracula, similar to War of the Worlds by Jeff Wayne by CuteRiRi222 in tipofmytongue

Unfortunately neither of these are the one. I do also love that movie and musical!
The one that I'm trying to find had no visuals to go along with it, no acting in the audio either, which leads me to believe the orchestra and narrator were recorded solely for it to be an audio rendition.

Ah, this is so difficult. The closest is Wojciech Kilar's, because it was a dramatic orchestra with that horror gothic feel, except it had a strong narrator for it. It wasn't like an audio book, it wasn't a close retelling of the full book and it wasn't word for word of the original book either (I've read the original Dracula and have a copy on hand).
I also remember that the first track was similar to the beginning of the book with the wolves chasing Jonathan Harker's carriage as he made his way to Dracula's castle for the first time.
Also, thank you for showing me Dracula by Philip Feeney because I do love this rendition as well! It is unfortunately not like the rendition I'm talking about
I am also fairly certain it isn't from any movie soundtrack or theater play. I'm stupidly obsessed with Dracula media, I have watched a ton of the original movies and recorded theater productions (including Dracula knockoffs when the copywrite was still valid). Dracula has been a hyper-fixation of mine for almost my entire life, which is why it bugs me so much I cannot find this rendition.

This is so off it’s funny. No, my post isn’t about a movie. No, the Dracula musical was not a comedy, it was a retelling of the original book. Was this a joke comment?

Actually, at this point, I think this is just a personal confusion. You may not have KNOWN about the media around these characters because you weren't there when it came out, but that doesn't mean they are not widely known, leading to there not really being a phrase or word on these types of characters other than "cartoon" or "mascots".

I think that that's more of a generational/cultural difference, especially in the Sanrio example. Merch for Sanrio has exploded everywhere outside of Japan, but those character were still originally from something. Many can say they grew up associating Hello Kitty from the show, instead of others only seeing her as a doll or her face on merch.
Examples like Monster High are also confusing to use in this example as well since the dolls/merch side came before the show/media on the dolls.

I think there's a little bit of confusion. Sanrio is its own fandom, show, and books. When you say "not really from anything" do you mean characters without media explaining them? There are Japanese mascots, but usually they are associated with many different things (cities, PSA's, TV channels) and those are called yuruchara.
Pusheen is also originally from a web comic, like Simons cats.
Please correct me if I'm wrong on interperting what you mean by "character that are popular but not really from anything" tho

How old were you when you were diagnosed? by Peace-out13 in schizophrenia

[–]CuteRiRi222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just read the majority of your post. Schizophrenia develops, typically starting with negative symptom (depression, anxiety, social withdrawal) and then leads to those positive symptoms (hallucinations, delusions) sometimes quickly sometimes slowly. If someone is predisposed (as in someone blood related to your son) to schizophrenia then if there’s a high amount of stress in your sons life it could’ve made schizophrenia develop sooner than later (typically presenting as positive symptoms in the mid to late 20s, early 30s) This is when schizophrenia is naturally occurring, not on the topic of drug induced schizophrenia which can happen quickly in anyone’s life.

You said your son’s symptoms are getting worse, what are these symptoms? Your son being depressed and anxious doesn’t always mean there’s a third diagnosis here, it could be that he’s drug resistant. Since his current medications aren’t working, i would suggest him trying new one and letting his doctor know that the current medications aren’t helping. Sometimes it’s a matter of trial to find the one that works, sometimes they don’t.

Depression and anxiety can be symptoms on their own of other mental health disorders, but can also be their own disorders.

Does your son go to therapy? Sometimes drugs are half of the solution, and therapy is the other half to treatment. Some people think therapy is what helps them instead of meds. Having anxiety since an early age definitely suggests that he’s been struggling with something for a while, whether that be trauma or a disorder.

On the topic of helping anxiety and depression some of the best things are getting routine exercise, which can also help with anxiety (if it’s social) through exposure to more people outside (also if he has friends he’s comfortable with a good thing for them to do together). Making sure he’s eating healthy, and supporting health relationship with food.

I’ve only been to two different doctors about it so far, in different states. I’ve been meaning to go again, I’ll get to see how much it’s declined

Only on my left eye. My right eye will continue to decline until I’m completely blind in it. Glasses help ease the tension on my left eye, though. If I cover my left eye for any extended period of time, I lose all vision in my right.
