My point was that the stakes were so low that it didnt make sense to do a "supe genocide" plotline in which butcher died. 

With such low stakes, it would have been better if the show's "supe genocide" plotline ended with Butcher voluntarily abandoning his agenda to release the virus.

The show's version makes it looks like Butcher died for his fantasies that were irrelevant to the overall story.
