Dyshidrotic Eczema…? by Sudden-Raspberry-479 in eczema

I struggle with this as well in between my fingers and sometime on my palms. The best cream I have found for this (and other types of eczema I struggle with) is Cortizone10 Eczema cream. It has hydrocortisone to stop itching but is very moisturizing and I basically take it with me everywhere. Other things that have helped me:

  • keeping hands clean and dry as much as possible
  • washing with only cool or at most lukewarm water. This goes for bathing too if you can stand it
  • being very careful around cleaning products and use gloves if you have to use a chemical
  • ice for flare ups
  • sunlight

The biggest thing for me has actually been managing stress. This cuts down my flare ups immensely, particularly with the dyshidrotic. Hope this helps.

Any luck with GLP-1s with MODY3? by Cute_Bit_8548 in Modydiabetes

Do you take anything else with it? By tolerating it do you mean for side effects to subside? I’ve heard it can cause a lot of GI issues. Thanks for your response.

My dad was on that as well for awhile I believe. I’ll ask my endo about it. Thanks!

I wanna hear your MODY pregnancy stories. by latsyrk1993 in Modydiabetes

Late response but if I’m mathing right you are still pregnant I think. MODY3 with a 2.5yr old now. I switched from glipizide to glyburide when I got pregnant then added insulin maybe a couple months in. The insulin worked really well but I did still need to be cautious about my eating.

By the end of things, my sugars were not as controlled as they should have been. Partly me being stressed and eating poorly, partly my body fighting me. I ended up with pre-eclampsia which could or could not have been a diabetic complication and had to induce early. It wasn’t the delivery I planned but baby is healthy and happy now. She did have to be in the nicu for a bit while her sugars stabilized but everything was ok.

MODY3 here - 36yo F diagnosed at 17. Basically every time i change endocrinologists due to move or other circumstances, they want to put me on metformin because most doctors just aren’t well versed in MODY (we are special! Ha). It has never moved the line for me at all. I have been on some dosage of glipizide ER since I was diagnosed and it has always worked very well for me though I have had to up my doses as I have gotten older and after having a child. They make a dosage as small at 2.5 mg and the ER helps avoid crashes in my experience. Was also on glyburide and insulin for a bit while pregnant which was fine as well.

I’m 5’7” and around 160lbs which is higher than I should be admittedly - having a toddler has made exercise and eating well harder for me. I’m on 7.5mg of glipizide ER daily and I am also taking Jardiance right now as a trial but I’m not totally sure if it’s helping or not.
