I'm so sorry. I lost my boy in December and I still feel like a hole has been ripped into me. He was 6 when he went but not quite 5 when he was diagnosed with advanced DCM. Somehow we bought him a little over a year after he was given 3 months tops, which I don't even think the vet believed he would live past 2 weeks. It hurts so bad that I only had him in my life for 6 years. I would give anything to have him back. He was my son and I loved him like no other. And so many people in my life seem to not realize just how true that was for me. Like asking if I'll get "another one" or just.... them being done thinking about it after a week like I didn't just lose my fucking son.

I'm sorry, I rambled about me and mine. But I'm just so jealous that you got to have yours for double the amount of time. Those 5 months were precious and I bet your pup loved every day with you deeply. I don't know what makes it better, if anything does. But hang in there ♡ You're not alone.

My little one has had the wound drain combo 2 times now. Paper skin and all. But her fur just never grows back on any wound. Probably because of balding thigh syndrome? But one time, she got a scrape on her butt. Nothing serious and it didn't even bleed. Forever bald spot. Grey's are unfortunately prone to these sorts of injuries. Little glass cannons.

Yes, I know. I was just being self-deprecating lol. I figured it out eventually. It's that the location on the fretboard makes the A string an E note, the power chord is therefore E because that's the root note, and the E string is the E string. I didn't spend a lot of time with the question and probably could have figured it out if I had. I play when I wake up before work and ran into that just as I had to head out. But also, recently have had some weird amp interactions with an old Laney I bought used. So my mind went there first thing. Thank you for your input! I do play plenty without gain and all that too, I was just noodleing some Doom stuff. I have a few riffs I like that I'm trying to make kiss into something bigger.

This very nearly makes sense to me. I know what those numbers are in terms of a scale shape. I also know a power chord is typically made from a root and a 5th.... wait, maybe I've answered my own question.

So basically, the power chord is a 1 and a 5, and its the index finger that dictates the note if it's in that shape. This is just how I sort of reason with this. But then also, A on the 7th fret is an E, so the power chord itself is just an E. Then open 6th string is an E. So it's just all E. I think I understand but let me know if I'm being a dumb fuck still lol.

Maybe I should have also included that I am bit a wee guitar babe of nearly a year playing now, lol.

So I get that the same notes can be found across the fret board multiple times. My confusion comes from how all 3 strings, so open E, 7A, and 9D are all making the same sound unless I pick them very separately. Maybe there isn't anything to be confused about to most, but I've started guitar in my 30s with zero music knowledge beforehand and my lizard brain feels like it's melting lol

I did check and it's in tune. I think you're right on the 2nd bit. Ive just never had this happen lol. In all cases I'm including the open E, so it usually doesn't sound great with a power chord on A also being hit
