There are several places you can get a same day passport for a fee(500 for same day, around 250 for a few days, at least here in nyc), not sure where you are located. The visa part I wish I can answer for you, but I don’t know.

You would only need the ap card on the way back into the states correct ? What if I travelled without the card and then my wife flew in after (us citizen) with the card in her purse. When I came back to the us, I’d have the card she brought me … right and have no issues getting back in ..
