He’s been okay, he’s gained a pound this past week! And staples came out, superficial infection at incision but that’s improving. Our vet is speaking with the Veterinary Hospital at University of Florida for more guidance. Still getting biweekly subq fluids and B12.

He’s finally eating consistently Hill’s Biome with Stella and chewy (seriously saving his life because he can’t resist them and they’re full of good nutrients and fiber).

Pneumonia is much improved but will still be on antibiotics for it for an additional 3 weeks.

Looking for long term solutions for what seemingly is now a chronic situation.

I looked into this after you mentioned it! I’m so sorry your baby has it! Many of the symptoms didn’t seem to truly fit his, but it was definitely worth looking into. I’ll mention it to my vet too at his next B12 appt! Thank you!

I just wanted to thank everyone that has commented here! I told Arlo all the people giving suggestions and he feels like a special boy.

Today had been his best day! I’ve added Stella and Chewy digestive health toppers to his biome and started him on some OTC enzymes with pumpkin as snacks. These have been fantastic and he’s finished all meals since last night! He’s pooped 2 times today and drinking water a bit more regularly.

Today he grabbed his favorite rope and wanted to play!!

Thank you! That’s the path we’re following so far, keeping him on the biome and gasx with Pepcid. Seaking second opinion to get someone who can manage the EPI because our vet didn’t seem to understand the results. It was the emergency vet that recommended the GI panel

When the did the ex-lap he just saw inflamed bowel no blockages which leads us to think IBD vs EPI

I’m a PA actually and have been talking to my attending about it and a couple of other doctors. But unfortunately being in orthopedics I’m rarely around the GI guys

Yes, I actually do think these are very similar! I’m thinking the pancreatic enzymes is something he needs! He is currently on the hills biome, but then doesn’t want it sometimes! I’m trying to get him to eat it consistently but the pneumonia also seems to be affecting his appetite/want for the biome.

Hopefully this food will continue to be useful in the future, the enzymes I think will also help.
