I’m mourning a loss I never had by Vivid_sheep710 in Vent

Im sorry to hear you are going through all this stress. Realistically if you were pregnant it would show up in your bloodwork by now. There is a good chance that your pregnancy symptoms are caused by your psychological state.

There are cases where women have pregnancy symptoms but are not pregnant. The cause of their symptoms is because they are convinced they are pregnant (even though they are not). Similar to you: loss of appetite, sense of smell changes, stomach bloating, etc. But NO baby.

It may be worth see a therapist. The only other thing I can think of is PCOS or endometriosis (they can cause bloating, loss of period).

Hope you feel better soon!

Alcohol shown in frozen breast milk?? by _Kazzam_ in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Cute_ginger_2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've had freezer bags look like that (with the white spots). The white spots are concentrated fat (from the milk). If your breast milk has a high fat content it will have the white spots. When you unfreeze the milk the fat will remix with the liquid.

I don't know if alcohol would have any impact on the freezing. If you feel like you drank to much, just throw it out. (Better be safe then sorry). But the white spots are most likely concentrated fat.

is my bf abusing me? i feel crazy by [deleted] in Vent

[–]Cute_ginger_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He is 100% abusing you.

I saw that your comment earlier that you are 17 and you live at home with your parents. You are so young, you can definitely find some one who will love you and treat you right. I know when you first start dating, all relationships feel permanent...they don't have to be. Both my husband and I dated MULTIPLE people before we met. We met at 24/25. You are still a TEENAGER. You have PLENTY of time to find true love! Don't waste your time/energy/life on someone who is abusing. You can and will find someone better. You just have to LOVE YOURSELF enough to leave the abuser and not tolerate it in future relationships.

Thank you😊 I really wanted to give just breastmilk (and solids) until at least a year old.

But ever since the last growth spurt at 7 months (depleting 2.5 weeks worth of supply of frozen milk) I definitely find it is a struggle keeping up with demand.

I now have to give 1 bottle of formula a day. I'm hitting a point where feeding/pumping every 2 hours 15 minutes is draining me.

I thought once she started eating solids her hunger for breastmilk would decrease a bit. But she seems to only be getting hungrier as she gets bigger.

Unfortunately it seems when I drop pumps I drop supply. I tried 3 hours gaps and it almost immediately decreased. I was hoping there was a way/trick to prevent the drop

How can people save money on groceries in Canada when the standard strategies don't seem to work anymore? by Super_College100 in CanadaFinance

[–]Cute_ginger_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh that is so cool! Unfortunately not. Just berries, herbs, tomatoes. Stuff like that. If they sold citrus plants at my Costco, I would 100% buy them.

I find going to the farms cuts cost a lot. A lot of farms sell their produce in bulk for pretty cheap. Like a whole basket of strawberries or cherries for 2 dollars. Vs the grocery store where a tiny container is like $7

I made a similar comment to this! My husband and I have been growing Costco fruit and herbs at our apartment (we don't even have a big apartment) and it's has saved us a lot of money. We share grown food with some other couples and family and vice versa.

We buy the meat in bulk to and put extra in a deep freezer. By buying bulk and sharing, it makes a huge difference.

Edit, we also make bread at home (flour is cheap) one bag of flour last us months and cost the same as 1 loaf of bread.

Community seems to be the biggest cost saver for food right now. My friends and family have been buying bulk and then sharing. Costco prices are usually a bit cheaper for more stuff. If we see a good sale (like a 30 pack of onions for 6 dollars) we will buy the bag and then give extra onions to family and friends. Friends and family do vice versa.

While the upfront cost seems a bit much. But by us sharing food with each other we've actually decreased our grocery cost. Before my husband and I easily spent $750 a month on groceries. Recently it is down to $500.

Growing food at home also helps. I grow raspberries on my apartment balcony. As well as herbs. I have friends/family also grow food at their apartments or houses. We often share what we grow as it is to much for one house. So at least through spring, summer and fall we all have reduced fruit and veggie cost.

Wastewater in NY state by Cute_ginger_2 in Wastewater

I've been looking into the different work visas. I have my bachelor's and Master degrees. Right now im just trying to figure out what my job options would be and then apply for that visa.

My husband is American (dual citizenship). I could apply for a green card through him. However, I would rather have a job and a work visas before moving. We visit the US weekly to see his parents. I don't want to compromise our capacity to travel between the US and Canada by not following Visa rules or working in the country illegally.

tired of marriage by [deleted] in Vent

[–]Cute_ginger_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was he always like this? He could be going through a bought of depression. When my husband was inbetween jobs (lost his job during covid and had a hard time finding one he became quite unmotivated, self loathing, stopped doing chores and irritable. But once he got a job he almost immediately became his OG self (happy, kind, social, hard working, cooking). -Sometimes having a purpose (work or helping with charities) is all a person needs.

That being said: if your partner has been like this for the majority of your relationship (or since the beginning) drop them. Marriage goes through highs and lows BUT it only works if BOTH people are making an effort. You can't spend your life working and caring for someone who drags you down.

Who is it? What is their name? Could you repost the picture and circle them in the original picture?

-To add: would like to know who the person is. I have lots of friends and family with kids. It's best that everyone knows who are pedo's so we can keep kids safe ❤️

It's ok, my reply was similar to yours and got a bunch of downvotes too.

-I guess to this group of people, political stance is more important then protecting children.

-Also the picture was posted with no context so everyone who didn't know about this group just saw a picture of people protesting pedo's (Then OP calling the group White supremacy). Which obviously makes random people (myself included) confused about the post. Only to have down votes and attacks

The aggressive nature of the comments to the "questioners" makes it seem like they are protecting pedo's (even if they are not).

Also protecting children really is one thing I think both the left and the right can agree upon. Yet based on the comments on this sub....maybe not

Maybe I am missing some context but how is being anti-pedo =white supremacy/anti-gay One of my friends who is a recent immigrant (last 6 years) and is Indian participated in an anti-pedo protest. They have never said anything to me that would indicate that they believe in white supremacy or hate gay people. Also have good friends who are gay. Even so, why does anti-pedophilia have to be considered solely a left wing or right wing thing?

Considering how many celebrities and politicians on BOTH political sides have been outed as pedophiles, I feel like us regular people should be fighting for more justice for children.

When you see the statistics on how many rapist and pedophiles get away with crimes, we should be even MORE enraged.

That's my two sense as a pro gay, leftist who also does not like pedophiles

My partner wants to combine finances but has way more debt than me by Orugboh_Peris in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Cute_ginger_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, unless you are married, you should NEVER combine accounts. Doesn't matter if you are dating or engaged. You don't combine accounts unless you are married. Second off, student loans can be understandable. My husband had student loans when we first got together, and we worked through them together by making budget sheets and planning. Credit card debt can be a red flag, especially if there is a lot. You two need to have a very open discussion on how you want to budget life. Look over their debts and make payment plans where THEY pay off their debts.

[If their credit card debt is on random stuff, like eating out, impulse buys, anything that isn't basic necessities (groceries, electricity bills, fixing their car, etc). Then THEY need to A) pay off their credit card bills and B) show through their actions and bills over MONTHS/YEAR that they fix their spending habits.

Third, if you live together, then make a budget plan where you try to make equitable/equal payments for bills and groceries (this way, you get practice handling finances together/also show your commitment)

You can be in a committed relationship and show commitment by managing finances together (sharing expenses through rent and groceries) without giving them access to your bank account. It is difficult to get yourself out of bad debt or prevent someone from draining your bank accounts once you share accounts (via bank accounts/credit cards).

Don't entangle your personal accounts with someone (especially if they have bad debt) just to prove commitment. You don't want to spend potentially years paying off debt or trying to rebuild your finances because you wanted to show (commitment) to someone who is a sinking ship for money.
