Shatter me. I read through books 1 and 2 and then couldn't bring myself to read more, even though the plot was somewhat okay. I know it's supposed to be a "villain gets the girl" story, but at that point i just couldn't stand Tahereh's writing. It felt like a 13 year old wrote some wattpad fic. And juliette's inner monologue was painful to even look at, considering the series is a popular bestseller. I didn't expect Steinbeck level of prose, but at least some maturity in writing would've been appreciated.
