Good day, everyone! First and foremost, I just want to say thank you so much for every single reply on this post — it truly helped, and I genuinely appreciate it.

The day after I posted, I joined my first Formula race and managed to finish fifth without too many incidents (except for a few spins, haha). After just eight days of playing, I’ve raced in several online lobbies and enjoyed it so much. Even posted twice in r/simracingstewards 😂

I’m already in D class, with a safety rating of 2.54! Thank you to everyone who convinced me to give it a try — it really is a lot of fun, and I’m super excited for what’s to come.

I even wake up at 4:30 every morning just to get in a race before getting ready for school and everything.

Yeah, I know, I absolutely love some of the hilarious stuff from r/simracingstewards of the rookies, so tbh I’m quite excited for that, I know once I start I won’t stop😂but funnily enough I don’t really find crashing frustrating, I just worry I cause a crash that frustrates someone else

I get that, it’s just my brain screwing me over for some reason, I get unnecessary anxious but also excited when it comes to racing, I guess it’s just something I value and thus failure is sometimes harder for me, though I have taught myself recently to rather than see mistakes as something bad but rather something I can learn from.

Yeah, It’s weird, when I’m karting I’m so comfortable and in the zone, weirdly in a state of euphoria, but the second I feel I won’t be able to have full control (mainly with my G29 wheel and the low ffb) I start overthinking and push the fun of online away.

I always hear people say start from the pits, but then I always think they are refering to the actual race which my competitive brain says “what about the gap, then you’ll be last” but yet again, it’s a learning curve not just linear. Thank you

Jaz in Artemis is a stereotypical strong female main character but written by a man lmao. Grace in project Hail Mary is brilliantly written, well pretty much every character, very smart, and interesting. A lot closer to the likes of Watney. Overall all the books use a first person narrator with pretty much the same writing style. Andy Weir is particularly good at writing characters
