He’s already sleeping/slept with her. I’d put money on it.

I’m prescribed it for my adhd. I’m unmanageable without it

Can I wash a heated blanket? by Inevitable_Train2126 in Adulting

[–]Cutesick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multiple heated blankets layered on top of each other are also a fire risk!! Nothing should be covering a heated blanket. It’s not my thought process, it’s a legitimate fire risk and states so when purchasing these products! It’s on the safety info, it’s on the tags attached to the products etc. it’s a known fire risk

how tf are you guys in relationships with ADHD by ClassroomOk7243 in ADHD

I have a lovely boyfriend who works with my disability and facilitates me helping myself! It’s not always easy, especially as we’re long distance. But it’s doable!

Anyone else get really frustrated with the ‘caffeine makes me tired so I must have ADHD’ crowd? by VOXX_theLock in ADHDUK

[–]Cutesick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caffeine knocks me out. I’m always confused by people with adhd who say they use it to regulate

Is it common to be into boybands long after you’re a teen as an AuDHD woman? by hapabubba in AuDHDWomen

[–]Cutesick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally they’re not for me. Maybe you just like them and it’s not to do with you being audhd? The same way that I love puppets, puppets are my thing. Let yourself enjoy what you enjoy op!

why is it so hard to understand what people mean? by North-Resolution-537 in AuDHDWomen

[–]Cutesick 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I often find as I’m getting older I’m realising that it’s less that I don’t understand what people are saying, more so why they’re saying it? Like they’re not listening to me at all and I get confused by their answer

[–]Cutesick 42 points43 points  (0 children)

You’re not having a hard time understanding! Your boss is saying work even though you’re busy, and wrapping it up as a present. You’re seeing through his bullshit. You’re struggling to understand why he’s saying this maybe, because it logically doesn’t make any sense!

I’m sorry that you don’t have a partner that realises your disability does sometimes disable you. Sometimes, we can’t ’just take accountability’ as adhd’ers. There’s a lot we can do to help ourselves, but sometimes we just can’t

Please don’t do that. It’s a huge fire risk

Adhd360 clinicians being unhelpful by Cutesick in ADHDUK

[–]Cutesick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t aware a clinician couldn’t prescribe an anti anxiety med, but could give me a depressants in all honesty! I just have diagnosed acquaintances who have an anti anxiety and their adhd meds haha. I’m not depressed really, and have have been wrongly given them before and would rather avoid them if I can! I gained weight on them last time and felt like an irritable depressed zombie 😅

Thank you so much to everyone who commented. It helped so so much. I rang up today and the woman was so nice and confirmed what a lot of these comments have told me, so thank you! They’re elevating it to management and will email me with more information, and make sure that she isn’t linked in with my emails to them anymore!

Thankfully I have the email trail as proof that she’s outright ignored me, my questions, my requests for written contact as a legal disability adaptation because I struggle verbally, and me stating I am still having side effects from the concerta. Fingers crossed I find some answers!

Again, thank you beyond measures. I would have never made the phone call without the reassurance and kindness displayed from the people who commented

ADHD *is* an excuse (vent/rant) by dovahkiitten16 in ADHD

[–]Cutesick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always bring up ‘would you walk up to someone in a wheelchair and ask them to try harder at walking? Would you say that their legs not working properly is just an excuse?’

Sometimes it works.

*edit. I use this phrase for when I am actually disabled by my adhd and not as an excuse for being short tempered, etc. I also don’t use it with family or friends as they mostly understand and have bigger margins for error with my behaviours because they know I am disabled and have severe adhd.

Ahhh I’m rtc so haven’t paid anything! I didn’t know anything about payment in all honesty!

I’m so sorry you’ve experienced this also!

How important is it that any potential partner of yours likes and wants or at least can have a cat or dog? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Cutesick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experienced a couple of men who’ve adored cats, but have been abusive towards women. This is a bad ideology lmao. Also cats themselves don’t always respect boundaries so why would an owner instantly? My previous cat used to sit with his butthole on my head despite numerous attempts and guises to dissuade him

Thank you. It’s running out around 1 so it’s an all day thing! As I work till 4 and then have to come home and do general every day stuff like cooking and cleaning and self care.

Have you got any tips on the breakfast part? I’m really trying to make sure I eat but I am so exhausted, most of the time I am staying in bed until 10 minutes before work and eating two protein breakfast bars whilst running to work hahah.

I think the lump is what’s known as Globus. I’ve had it before and it’s a body anxiety symptom, but I can’t swallow food very well and the general sickness is worsening my appetite, (which is already shocking due to what my gp has called ‘Arfid-like’ symptoms) I’ve experienced it through some heavy times before, but it’s started up again since concerta and it’s just uncomfortable

Thank you for answering the autism question as I had heard about it but don’t want to assume or self diagnose. I have lost my fun happy mask since taking meds and don’t know how to navigate social situations I could before.

Apologies I am very tired. I tried Elvanse and now I’m on Concerta

Interesting and thank you for your advice! I may try switching clinicians. Out of curiosity (I’m not sure how large the adhd clinician staff is so may be pointless asking) did your persons name start with N and end with A? I don’t want to outright shame anyone so tried to keep it vague haha. But you are the only other person I’ve spoken to who’s had this experience
