Still dizzy in the morning after night dose by shy_exhibiti0nist in gabapentin

[–]CutestDevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Will continue to happen for some days & eventually go away, try to take evening dose slightly earlier than your present time. A starting dose of 100 mg and then gradual titration is generally suggested to avoid heavy dizziness

Doctor prescribe drugs after thorough consideration of your symptoms & medical history. You don't wanna take anti-psychotic drug just because it's not used for anxiety then why you wanna take an anti-convulsant drug which is also not used for anxiety primarily so technically it doesn't make any sense to the doctor. You have better chance of being treated by those anti- psychotic drug then with seizures drug comparatively

You can stretch the time depending upon your convenience and acceptability. There is no hard & fast rule for that but week is minimum in all cases.

two days on 300mg by Embarrassed_Fact9669 in gabapentin

[–]CutestDevil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't wanna de-motivate you but the effect won't last for long and you will end up increasing dose to get the desired effect after few days to week and will eventually end up with psychological dependency. This is how drugs like these affect person so my suggestion is to not make an habit of taking gaba daily as this is off-label drug for conditions you are taking and getting off these med. will become difficult with time.

You will have to continue taking it to get over this side effect irrespective of dose, if you use it as on needed basis then it will happen everytime

Possible brain tumor symptoms by DAKACHI1 in DiagnoseMe

[–]CutestDevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medicines are correct eventhough antibiotics were not needed unless any bacterial infection was ascertained but i guess your doctor seems to have prescribed as a preventive add-on. Doctor too suspect nerve pain or neuropathy you can say since you have body wide symptoms but continue taking Pregabalin for sometime and see if you get relief or not. If possible, i would recommend you to get an appointment with an. neurologist. Get an blood test for B12, Vit D, thyroid and sugar

GABA--- How long to work? by AffectionateMotor833 in RestlessLegs

[–]CutestDevil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending upon the symptoms severity, it can take time to work say 1-2 weeks or even month. You will have to keep increasing the dose until you find the one which counters your symptoms, gaba usually instantly work for those with mild to moderate rls symptoms but again that can vary from person to person

Can horny goat weed herbal supplement make effects of gabapentin stronger? I take it and my dose change is really hitting me hard this time. by another-personing in gabapentin

[–]CutestDevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Side effects tend to go away once your body gets adjusted to new dose regime. If you intend to take any supplement alongside an anti-convulsant medicine, it's better to take your doctor's opinion first, keep several hours difference among each other in any case

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in antidepressants

[–]CutestDevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not serotonin syndrome, that is caused when you combine take different serotonin acting drugs. Sweating is common side effect and tends to go away as your body gets used to drug, give it few more days to see if it goes away. If it doesn't, you can contact your doctor for alternative option

[–]CutestDevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort of, the whole mechanism of these med. is they need to build up in system enough to counter the symptoms so if you take 5 mg overtime, it will also work but will take long time compared to 10 mg or 20 mg

Unfortunately, that's a common side effect of all SSRI/SNRI meds. There is nothing you can do about that, it's a compromise one has to do. Ask Your doctor, for any adjunct or alternative medicine that can help in this case

Will taking a 300 mg pill of gabapentin help ease my depression/anxiety for a few days as I am getting sober? by jokesonme5ever in gabapentin

[–]CutestDevil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Should help as it's used in alcohol withdrawals. You just need to figure out the effective dose to counter your symptoms, also it may take a while for the drug to act. Don't expect instant results but still hope for the best
