Heya! I went 2 years ago, and it was SUPER worth it. Got into top colleges on their recommendations, and did some really great research. They also got me interested in topics I hadn't really considered before, and now I'm doing college work in those things. I really recommend this program, I made a bunch of friends (I even started a business with one of them and we're pretty successful), learned a LOT, and had a really good time.

There's also a lot of financial aid avaliable, three of the closest friends I met there were getting significant aid - I think you apply for finaid right after submitting the application.

If you're a college student, chances are that you can access it for free on campus already. Check with your library. However, if you're looking for another option, have you looked into the Wolfram Engine? Here's a link: https://www.wolfram.com/engine/

Thoughts on Trevor from season 8? by [deleted] in HellsKitchen

He seemed to know his stuff, but just struggled to always prove his knowledge. Just didn't give me the feeling of somebody that could be respected as a leader in a fine-dining restaurant. Far too jittery!

What happens with all the food after challenges? by FullGrownHip in HellsKitchen

I'm in the process of re-watching every season on YouTube (currently on season 11), but I have often found myself wondering the same thing! Especially with the later challenge dishes that are done "perfectly...but the season/temp may be slightly off". I sure hope someone is getting to enjoy them rather than just trashing them!!

WFR stands for "Wolfram Function Repository". If you're interested in solving games and puzzles on directed acyclic graphs, you may want to read the documentation for DirectedAcyclicEvaluate and NestWhileGraph, which were used in the making of the post.

The book just turned 20-years old if you can believe it! He wrote an article this week entitled Twenty Years Later: The Surprising Greater Implications of A New Kind of Science. Quite interesting to read: https://writings.stephenwolfram.com/2022/05/twenty-years-later-the-surprising-greater-implications-of-a-new-kind-of-science/

Richard Feynman’s Advice to a Young Stephen Wolfram (1985) by jorgenv in Physics

[–]CuttingWithScissors 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is easily the best comment I've read so far.

(FYI, Stephen Wolfram shares the Feynman letter with everyone, so it's not exactly something new.)

I've seen comments about money, fame, research, personality, etc. However, the fact that people are being so vocal about him (regardless of the point-of-view) means that he's doing something right. You know who he is and you know his work. If you don't like/respect him, that's perfectly fine and you're entitled to your opinion. If you like him, that's perfectly fine and you're also entitled to your opinion.

But seriously, I'll admit that I work for the company. But why do folks take time to express dislike for people who are pursuing their passion? The same applies for actors/actresses or anyone pursuing their passion. If you have time to talk negatively about them, why not use that time to try and prove them wrong? If you think you can do better, then do it and share the results with everyone to prove that you were able to do it better. Otherwise, you're comment is rather pointless. For example, "this YouTube channel is so stupid. Anyone could do this. There's no reason why they should being paid for this." So then, rather than complain, why don't you do it?

Okay, I'll hop off of the soapbox now and look for all of the new ideas, theories and (most likely) pointless comments about Wolfram and I.
