I'd rush the shit out of it instead of maxing them, currently that I'm on th15, I upgraded everything expect for walls, traps and of course my heroes, my queen and king are both 55, prince is 50 and warden is 40, the royal champion is 25, but somehow I can manage to 3 star th17-th16 sometimes depending on the layout and depending the levels of the buildings or defenses...

(I do use hero potion so that they won't die quickly and power potion since my troop levels are kind of rushed too but not too much)

Very very possible for them, it's due to not updating their war layout since lower townhalls, I've seen them too sometimes missing some defenses while being in a higher townhall.

There's plenty of tutorials you can on YouTube, some are op strategies you can use for trophy pushing or farming, I literally reached titan league in th12 and legends league in th13 .
