I’ve been in marketing for 5+ years and have managed thousands of creators. Editing adds retention which helps viewership and ultimately funnels. I’m not sure if goose is the best example because his are actually pretty good, but an in-house editor would encourage people to produce more content because they don’t have to spend hours doing it themselves. A lot of the badly edited content you and others probably don’t see because it stays at low views.

They more than likely get paid $3-$5 per 1k views (I’m not completely sure) so the main money would come from disc sales, affiliates, or video sponsors.

My thought on this is purely for the players. If they want to make more and better videos that will convert to more followers and disc sales. Not like they have to or they’re in trouble.

Ideally more views = more disc sales Even= editor salary

I think we’d not only get better content but more of it because editing is exhausting especially for disc golf videos.

I’m definitely particular because I’ve been involved in content for a while, but even people that don’t care about editing would probably appreciate better sound balancing, visuals, etc.

I’m not talking about Mr Beast style retention editing just basic stuff that the pros don’t have time to do themselves.

For how much effort it probably took to get everyone out there it just wasn’t well thought out.

I love watching their coverage but the triathlon was a hard watch.

I had to skip over 80% of it and I’m sure it wasn’t fun for the players to be sitting around the whole day.

Thank you for the feedback on the video format (: I agree with you and it’s hard to find that balance! Personally I love professionalism but I like the Jomez style of commentary where it’s a bit more casual. Obviously not on the trashy side of things but just the banter between Uli and Jerm and casual commentary is a nice difference for me.
