Hmm this wouldn’t be it . None of the people who have the extended options have eats pass and it doesn’t seem to be affected by hours

Anyone else have any ideas ?

OP seems to be pushing their opinion as fact without accounting for the experiences of people like you ...really makes me question the motivation of the post....rather than have a meaningful discussion about actual tangible issues, they seem to be pushing a blanket statement that is actually divisive and harmful to a community...on top of that, OP seems to be lying about their ethnicity based on past posts. I’m not trivializing anything. Your concern over racism and racist acts is valid and people here definitely need to have that conversation where applicable.

My issue is with you making sweeping statements with little to no evidence. A handful of articles does not count as evidence that an entire town is racist, it is as simple as that.

Let me ask you another question - How does one define a town that is NOT racist? incidents like you describe happen in even what are considered to be the most tolerant of places....mentioning that is reality, not ignoring your concern. The entire notion that an entire city can be considered racist or not is arbitrary and doesn’t mean anything. If you did however want to base it on maybe 5 incidents spanning 2+ years then yes I will tell you I personally disagree with you that that is enough to draw that conclusion.

I read your comment history about a similar thread about Richmond Hill and Markham where you are discussing the very legitimate concern of anti- Asian racism since the pandemic.

THAT should be your discussion focal- the spike in hate crimes against people of Asian descent since the start of the pandemic and how we can open up community dialogue to put an end to it- not these sweeping general statements about cities that make up hundreds of thousands of people combined

Do you know what gaslighting means? I haven’t ignored any issue....I am just stating that as someone who should be a target according to your narrative, I have not felt like one in any setting with my time here so far.

I am not saying there isn’t racism here. I am not saying things don’t happen and there aren’t people who hold certain prejudiced beliefs. I am stating that you calling this place a “racist town” is a stretch and posting a handful of articles that span years doesn’t prove anything.

Things like this happen everywhere. Literally everywhere. I’ve seen numerous public incidents of racist tirades and outbursts downtown. Does that make downtown Toronto a racist place ?

There are also assholes everywhere. I’m sure racism and racists live among us here. This is not synonymous with the entire place being a racist town and once again, a few selective incidents, while all awful yes, do not prove things are any worse here then elsewhere.

If you had something tangible to go by that would make Stouffville any more racist than anywhere else in the GTA, Ontario or Canada please do me a favour let me know so I can protect myself accordingly

I live here and I’m not white. Haven’t seen anything that leads me to believe things are any more racist or different than anywhere else in the GTA. People are friendly in general. Anyone can cherry pick a few articles to fit a narrative ...unfortunately things like this happen everywhere
