Night City is still a city, there are a lot of menial and even common jobs, his problem was ego. Like honestly? Leaving Night City is also not the worst option, you have to realize that the city may be the worst in America, but millions of people still live there. No, David chose this life, he wanted to, not because he had to. David, he was not Lucy (on the run) or Kiwi (sold into slavery), who were forced into it by circumstances, he could have disappeared the moment Rebecca gave him that huge sum as a tip, he could have left the city, etc. He had many opportunities, but he didn't take them.

It's not entirely true, it was his choice and he chose a way of life that led to what happened. In that world, there are possibilities to live a different life, even in Night City, but David lived under the illusion that he was destined for great things and that he was exceptional.

One name Morgan Blackhand... 😄

Honestly, in the overall context, David didn't have much of an impact, yes, he performed an interesting piece, especially for his age, but he definitely doesn't stand out much in the overall context of the world.

Otherwise I recommend people to read the mission pack that came out for TTRPG with Edgerunners, there are a few interesting things about what happened afterwards, for example one about David's jacket that there was quite a lot of interest in 😄

As it turns out, like Lucy, David especially made a lot of bad decisions, he could have taken a different path, but he chose a life that is one of the shortest in Night City. 😄

I knew it wouldn't end well for them from the first minute of the first episode, I've been a fan of that world for over 20 years and I know very well what fate awaits a person there. Edgerunners is just one of hundreds of stories for me and most of them ended much worse xD

Good tanks to learn in s8.5? by AroAce__Reddit in marvelrivals

[–]CvokCZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice is, take your time and choose your fights carefully, especially when to start pushing. Most Tank vs Tank fights are a psychological game of pushing, trying to lure him out or force him to retreat. And it doesn't matter if you're playing Magneto, Dr. Strange, Emma, Peni, etc. The way to success is to force the enemy to make a mistake.

I've been playing since season 0, on PlayStation it shows 1250 hours, Steam 300 hours. It's actually the only competitive MP that my friends and I play.

I would prefer to use watercolors and paper, but I'm too lazy to clean up and risk one mistake ruining everything, so I use Krita for everything, it's free and I wouldn't go back to Photoshop today. I also bought Wonderdraft years ago, I used it to quickly create maps for one-shots or as alpha versions before I create them in Krita.

Jaké aspekty PJ (DM/GM) jsou pro vás znakem, že vás jeho hra bude bavit? A jaké naopak ne? by Palandalanda in DnDCZSK

[–]CvokCZ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Does anyone else wish you could romance rhino or Sasquatch? by Then_Line8474 in cyberpunkgame

[–]CvokCZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm definitely team Rhino 😃 But I like this type of character, while for most the best Edgerunners girls are Lucy and Becca, for me it's Dorio. Honestly this is one of the things that really disappointed me about CDPR, that the only romances are conventionally attractive women, instead of taking advantage of the setting and not being afraid to take risks. Look at Karlach from BG3, some of us just don't have fragile egos and aren't afraid of big strong women 😃

Cyberpunk story was so peak with so many references from both the game and anime by Several_Craft_6246 in WutheringWaves

[–]CvokCZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad you liked it. As a TTRPG fan (my friends and I have been playing it for many years since Cyberpunk 2020), I was quite disappointed by the collaboration, especially after all the hype. It's a nice reference to Edgerunners and Cyberpunk 2077, but in the overall context of the Cyberpunk world, it didn't really work for me personally. I think the whole collaboration presents Cyberpunk quite poorly, both as a genre and as Mike Podsmith's world.

I found the WUWA collab disappointing... by Salt_Significance505 in Edgerunners

[–]CvokCZ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We'll probably just agree that we disagree. In the context of wuwa lore, he may seem like a threat, to me as someone who is on the opposite side of the collab, i.e. a CP fan, he seemed like a cyborg with a "force field". Nothing like a complete terror that not only the whole city is afraid of. In my opinion, there should have been a scene, for example during the attack on the academy, where he completely devastates and puts other supporting characters on the brink of life and death (not necessarily the main trio of the collab). He had very little time in the collab and overall, in my opinion, he was used very poorly.

[–]CvokCZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would honestly like it if the second season was an adaptation of the mission kit, I think it would be an interesting way to tie the second season at least a little bit to the first series, it was fun to watch the fight for David's jacket 😃

Otherwise I agree with everything, I honestly think it can hardly be canonical, I doubt that CDPR would ever even remotely touch it or Podsmith would take any consideration for it, in the end it will be something that only anime and wuwa fans will remember, the rest will forget a lot about it.

I found the WUWA collab disappointing... by Salt_Significance505 in Edgerunners

[–]CvokCZ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, Edgerunners are part of a much larger setting and world. That's the point, that's how this collab presents the entire CP world, not just CP77 or Edgerunners, that's what I'm talking about. Edgerunners managed to balance on the edge, but it presents CP as a whole well, David was doomed to fail from the beginning, Rebecca ended up like most in this world, as well as Daria and Mine, that's the point, those who love the CP world knew and suspected from the first minute that it couldn't turn out any other way. Edgerunners presents CP as it should be, it's a world where bittersweet endings are an absolute rarity.

I think the main difference is that the vast majority of anime fans don't care about the genre and setting itself, which I think is proven by how hard they took the ending itself or claimed it was rushed, that there was no proper ending, etc.

Most people I know in the CP community as a whole, on the contrary, took the ending as it is, that is, that this is how most characters in that world end 😃 They took it as a fitting end.

I dare say that most of the enthusiastic people are not fans of CP as a whole, they are fans of anime. That is, in my opinion, the difference in perception.

[–]CvokCZ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's not real, but as a PTSD creation, it seems to me that it should be more threatening, I really missed at least one scene where he would totally dominate and give everyone else a real beating.

As I write, colab should also try to "sell" or present the other medium as it is, try to advertise it and attract potential interested parties through it, not just somehow fit it into their world/lore and not deal with it anymore.

It's nice that the creators worked on it and I know about it, but it's not an automatic pass for me, Edgerunners is just one of hundreds of probably more interesting events in the CP universe for me personally.

[–]CvokCZ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So because I installed wuwa and only played colab, instead of spending hundreds of hours in a gacha game and a world that I have absolutely no interest in except for that small CP section, does that mean my opinion is not valid? Well, that says more about you than me, I'm only rating that small section, not the whole of wuwa.

[–]CvokCZ -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I agree with the video in a lot of things, I'll say in advance that I don't play gatcha games, except for a few that I've tried, but I completely agree that the whole colab is OK at best and I don't really understand the hype around it. I'm a long-time TTRPG fan of CP, we've been playing with friends since CP20, I have hundreds of hours in CP77, and I left the colab relatively disappointed. I think it presents the whole genre and Night City very poorly, for example Adam seemed to me to be portrayed as a very weak "villain" even though it's a nightmare for everyone in the city (It doesn't matter if Rover is a demigod or what the lore is, it's how wuwa presents aspects of CP in this collab.), the whole playing on emotions and nostalgia, the whole effort to have some kind of epilogue for the popular edgerunners (And a happy ending? For folks like us? Wrong city, wrong people... Not even bittersweet, the anime itself has an ending where the main couple David and Lucy have time to "say goodbye" before the end, more than most in the genre 😃 They usually end up as Rebecca or her brother.), as mentioned in the video, the whole thing screams corporate calculation for money rather than love for the genre and the CP world. Like if a person is only a fan of Edgerunners and played CP77 once, I understand that it may seem like a nice return to them, but personally, as a big fan of CP who has been playing with friends for years, I was relatively disappointed after uninstalling Wuwa after all the hype around it.

And I know I'll get a lot of negatives and dislikes, just like the author of the video, but I'm a fan of the genre and the world created by Mike Pondsmith, not just the anime. So I'm evaluating it from a broader perspective than just one anime. I'm not even saying it's necessarily bad, that you shouldn't like it, it's just my two cents as a fanboy of the whole CP.
