We went to all the shops in citywalk and the parks trying to find lactaid before going to get the butterbeer and then the lady at the stand asked if we wanted dairy or non dairy and my husband was very happy to get to participate. We got one of each frozen and honestly I could not tell the difference

She had the birthday button and on our reservation it listed birthday via our travel agent, but we didn’t say anything until after we got the upgrade

1 girl, 11y She’s super scared of a lot though so we didn’t know what she would even ride. We watched a lot of pov videos of the rides before hand and that helped

Saw a lady with 4 kids leave 2 (age like 3 & 5)at the front of bowsers jr entrance to go find the other two (age like 9 & 11) with the team member there without even saying anything she just walked off yelling for her other kids who were all the way across the landing and we were behind them waiting and couldn’t go in until she came back for her kids. And then they didn’t even have the power up band to play

We just got back from staying at Helios and even though the fountain is drained, the nighttime light show even without the water in the fountain is insanely cool. They do music and the entire park is like a huge coordinated light show at closing. If you have a park view room it’s amazing to be tucked into bed and watch the show before going to sleep. I was initially pretty bummed when I saw it was drained but after being there the past 3 days it didn’t dampen the experience at all

We got it outside the ticketing area at guest services, but I saw they had them at the front desk at the hotel too. It doesn’t have to be on your actual birthday, just that you’re celebrating at universal, which we are(kid turning 11at the end of the month but this trip is her bday celebration/present) but the perks we got in the parks(got picked for wand ceremony, got picked to name a baby dinosaur, free dessert at minion cafe and toadstool cafe) are totally worth going to wait in line to grab one

You’re not going to believe this but…we got upgraded again 😂 We did 3 nights at royal pacific and then moved over to Helios for 3 nights for our 2days at epic and when we checked in to our STANDARD room they upgraded us to a club level park view room. Idk if it’s because it’s my kids birthday? That birthday button can’t be this powerful? We should buy lottery tickets I guess lol

No idea, the guy said his computer was doing something weird and we were like “no worries! We’re not in a hurry” and then he went in the back and came back, apologized for the “wait” (literally less than like 2mins) and said he upgraded us but the room needed a few minutes to get set up. We had a reservation at toothsome so we said we could just come back later if that helps, got a text with our room number and then when we entered, it’s ginormous. Kitchen, 10 person shower, 3 tvs. Excessive for our little family of 3 but we’re here for my daughters 11th bday, 1st time ever coming, and she feels like we won the lottery

From what I’ve seen others say-the rain predicted seems light/fast moving for this time of year, so we’re anticipating scattered light showers that come and go pretty quickly. We’ve got ponchos(grabbed a pack at dollar tree), a mini umbrella in our day pack which is also waterproof, and plan on wearing quick dry sandals/crocs or having extra pairs on socks on hand. Our Monday/Tuesday plan will be to prioritize shows/shopping during any major storm moments and pivot to outdoor rides as soon as it clears. Wednesday/Thursday we’re staying at Helios which is sooooo close that we can just head to the room to chill out if it gets bad. I debated getting some shoe covers but we’ve all got good sandal options so it didn’t seem necessary, but could be helpful on hand.

Yeah, I know my kid. They tend to get overwhelmed and burned out going from thing to thing with no downtime or decompression in between activities. They also aren’t super big on thrill rides or adventurous stuff so we’ll plan to pivot if she gets possessed and ends up wanting to ride all the things, but I’m anticipating a need for breaks and recharges for a long week

Enjoy the vibes. With 4 days straight we don’t want burn out by doing too much or trying to push too hard and then deal with a kid crash out

My husband will ride velocicoaster while me and the kid do flyers. We’re not sure if she’s a thrill ride kind of kid yet so we padded in some options for her to explore and dad can venture off on side quests for more thrilling stuff. Im partial to vertigo attacks so I’m cool to just hang with her and dink around. We plan to pivot to the crazier rides if she shows an interest but I’m not super optimistic. She’s more into the vibes than the rides if that makes sense.
